Public Appearances and Presentations

Hi Everyone
I've been asked to do a school presentation, it's the first time I've done anything like this and I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about pricing.

The presentation will be an hour long, I have to go through story planning to help the students with their write a book in a day competition. The school has asked me how much I charge for an hour.
I have no idea!
Any suggestions?

Schools don't have large budgets for this sort of thing. I would ask what they normally pay. Many years ago when I did something like that I only got paid $35. I considered it a good deed service rather than a true promotion. Some authors do it for free.
