How many timeless themes can you count on Jane Eyre?

There's a whole growing-up theme. Jane is, substantially, the same person from beginning to end. But she learns how to get what she wants.
Remember in the beginning, when all she has to love is her doll? She spends the entire book looking and working to achieve the right and fulfilling love. She accepts no substitutes (St. John) and makes no compromises (running away from Rochester). She is true to her heart.
