2013 August Pick It For Me! Challenge

I hope I like it too. It sounds like my type of book.

I had trouble picking because it was hard to sort stuff on my phone, which is why this took so long. Sorry! Anyway, you have a short to be read list, so picking from that was fairly ..."

Thank you Vilda,
Husband is still in so much pain but it is getting better, I can't wait for him to be back to himself again.
I LOVED Wait for me I can't wait to see what you think of it.

Sorry for the very late picks. I've been out all day this week and my access to the computer became very limited. I have to go out now again and I'm giving you the picks now without any comments. I'll add comments later.
And wow! You are very heavy on RS here. I've tried to do a mix of books from your shelf and new to you. I've also tried inserting different genres/authors and I'm really hoping you'll like it. If you need any repacks, let me know. I'd be happy to!

The picks are great! I am going to blow my book budget this month 'cuz there are many on the list that I have been anxious to read, you have now given me the excuse I was looking for!
Jennie
I'm starting with Pamela Clare or Cherry Adaire!!!

I did like the book, but gave it an overall rating of 3 stars. It just wasn't great.

I'm assigning re-picks 15 mins early because I've got to go out.
Brandilyn picks for Penney
Vi picks for Lady Jaye
Ty picks for Bre
Leslie picks for Nikita
Thanks again for volunteering to do re-picks. I really appreciate it.

Let me know how you found the Pamela Clare and Cherry Adair. They're on my TBR list.

◈Purple: Fair Game Purple and a Mystery. Lanyon is great with the mysteries with the love story more in the background.
◈Blue: A Matter of Time, Vol. 1 Another all time favorite series and author. Gay-for-you, Hot alpha male, great dialogue.
◈Green: Divide & Conquer an all time favorite series and author of mine. I see you have rated the first 3 at 4*. Keep going, it just gets better and better.
◈Yellow: Taming Natasha I actually really enjoyed this entire series. Easy reading, but a nice story.
◈Orange: Tribute Will definitely push your boundaries, but in a good way (is that possible?) anyway... Technically M/M but does have some M/F bits (which is the only reason it was a 3* instead of a 4* for me)
◈Red: An Intrepid Trip to Love Recently released. A sweet shifter story. Not too long and free (always a bonus)
◈Black: Blaze of Glory YA set it the world of horses, but a favorite of mine.
◈White: Wicked Game Hot!

Thanks!

I have a couple other makes for borrowing (either from the library or another site) before I can read my next pick. Again thanks!

I am so sorry about this, I was hoping to do your picks yesterday, but my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Iceland! So I'm currently desperately typing this on the little wifi I found in Reykjavik... I feel terrible, but imm going to see if the mods can have someone else pick for you, because off my iPhone, I won't be able to do your shelves justice... Personally I hope they pick either Annie's Song or Comanche Moon off your tbr (I had already done some browsing in your shelves!) I'm so sorry for bailing like this! when I'm back, I'll send you my picks in a pm, if you like?

I've finished my first pick,

I think I may try to tackle

You have the shortest TBR I've ever seen in GR. I think I may have to that amount when I joined in GR but now they've grown so much!
I really enjoyed picking for you - there were so many choices that I couldn't actually narrow down. I've tried to give you a mixture of from your TBR and new-to-you. I hope you like your picks. If not, please let me know!
◈Purple:
Naked Edge by Pamela Clare - Purple cover with a mystery theme.
Magic Lost, Trouble Found by Lisa Shearin - This is on my TBR too but it's a little purplish and it comes under Magic. I'm planning to read this real soon.
◈Blue:
Duncan's Bride by Linda Howard - Lisa Kay recommended this to me a while back and I have to say, I really enjoyed this.
Nightfall by Anne Stuart - A N2Y - I recently read this and really enjoyed it.
◈Green:
The Last Boyfriend by Nora Roberts - Not really green but you seem to enjoy NR. So why not continue the series?
Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman - Again, Gaiman seems another of your favorite author. While he doesn't seem to work for me, I know you'll like him way better
◈Yellow:
Lord Perfect by Loretta Chase - Favorite HR. I love, love ALL the characters in this series.
Heart of Obsidian by Nalini Singh - This is not exactly on your TBR but in TBR-Unplanned. Still I can't help recommend. Please read soon!
◈Orange:
The Eyre Affair by Jasper Fforde - I just started the second book and I realized again how much I loved the first book. It's plain out crazy fun. Spoiler: It spoils Jane Eyre like anything but it's worth it
The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold - Another series that has been recommended to me so many times. I'm planning on starting it soon but I just started her Sci-Fi Vorkosigan series.
◈Red:
His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik - I know you have Eragon on your TBR but I've heard many say this is even better.
Written in Red by Anne Bishop - A fairly recent release
◈Black:
Rosemary and Rue by Seanan McGuire - I'm pimping this series like anything. The first one is so-so but the series gets way better. The last 3 books have been plain amazing.
The Restorer by Amanda Stevens
◈White:
Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier - Another favorite pimp of mine. This is one of my favorites of all-time.
And I can't help but recommend these two. Really really amazing.
Daughter of the Blood by Anne Bishop
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks
Happy Reading, Lady Jaye!

Sorry for the extra wait! I conked out last night - haha. I see contemporary romance is your thang! Thank goodness I've read some awesome ones out there. I've kept most of the books in that genre but there may be a couple outside of it. Hope you enjoy the picks and lemme know if you need a repick or two. :D
◈Purple:
NEW (mysterish): The Darkest Hour - this surprised me with its emotional punch
TBR: Before I Fall - well, there is a slight mystery to this, but this one is also pretty emotional by the end. It was 5 stars for me and it actually made me want to read her other series.
◈Blue:
NEW: It Had to Be You - I heart the first 4 of this series. perfect for being lazy - football and romance
TBR: Rock Chick - great funny series that's introduces you to the Rock Chick gang and their Hot Bunch sexy alphas.
◈Green:
NEW: Protecting What's His - hawt and growly alpha male - I'm currently reading the sequel and it's just as sexy.
TBR - One Tiny Lie - you and I both gave the first book 5 stars. The 2nd has to live up to that, right?
◈Yellow:
NEW: He Loves Lucy - I can't tell you how many times I've rec'd this book in PIFM. It's so cute and heartwarming.
TBR: Friend-zoned - also on my TBR, can do a buddy read.
◈Orange:
TBR (orange): Something Like Summer - omgosh loooove this one.
NEW: As You Desire - not only is it historical romance, which I see is NOT your thang, but it's also set in Egypt amongst British ex-patriots. This one has a permanent place on my favorites shelf. :D
◈Red:
TBR: Willing Victim - you don't know how happy it was for me to see this on your TBR. The subject matter is a mite controversial, but the execution is SO FREAKING good. My only complaint was it's so short. Why couldn't it have lasted 1000 pages??
◈Black:
TBR: Mystery Man - THE book that got me on the KA train. I emailed my sister at 3am in the morning to tell her to read this book. lol
NEW (post-apoc): Night Whispers - although set in post-apoc world, it reads pretty much like a contemporary. I was surprised by how much I liked the H/h.
◈White:
TBR: Tangled - well, it's on your TBR-this-month shelf, so you HAVE to read it! On my TBR too, maybe buddy read?

I finished

I really liked it too. I haven't read any more of the series yet, but it's on my TBR.

Well, the second just came out in June and the third doesn't come out until this fall, so it isn't like we are really lagging or anything... =) I am planning to read Full Moon, the second in the series this month. I have the motivation - it was one of my picks!!

I've added Letters to A Secret Lover to my TBR. I really loved the one Toni Blake novel I read. Enjoy your books this month and let me know what you think.

So sorry I missed it. I was suppose to pick for you but got stuck in work. TY made a good job though, and I have to admit that I couldn't do better. Have a good read, and sorry again!! : (

Vilda,
Wow!! And I waited until now to see all these wonderful recs. Thank you very much, I'm starting with the Faefever for now and I'll post every book I read. How I miss having time for reading, but I'll try to read as much as I can.

I'd like to try to read The Night Circus next, but I have a ton of other books on my list first - not least being Wallbanger for our group buddy read...

I finished my first pick
