Thanks Melissa. I have it on my Kindle app. I think I got it the last time it was this price :0)

message 254: by Raquel (new)

Raquel Braido (rachbraido) Hey Leslie, I loved to go through your shelves. Hope you enjoy what I’ve picked for you:

Purple: Clockwork Angel (your TBR) – I really love this series by Cassandra Clare and this is the first book. It has a lot of mistery and magic and I think you’re going to love Tessa, Will and Jem. :)
OR you can read Angelfall by Susan Ee (I’m currently reading it and loving every second of it. And it is also on your TBR shelf :))

Blue: I think Wonder by R.J. Palacio is perfect for a lazy day. And one I saw on your TBR and it has BLUE on its cover is Daughter of Smoke & Bone by Laini Taylor.

Green: I saw you really enjoy J.D. Robb so I haven’t seen Memory In Death (In Death #22) on your TBR list, so I’m putting this one here. And I’m going to recommend you a book with a green cover and it is not on TBR list: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. She’s one of my favorite authors and I love all her books, and I love even more the ones she writes as J. Lynn. But this one, the first of Lux Series, is amazing!

Yellow: I saw you haven’t read Hopeless by Colleen Hoover and this is the best book ever for me. So I’m going to pick it for you along with Losing Hope also by Colleen Hoover. You see, these too books complete themselves in a beautiful and emotional way. And I am madly in love with Dean Holder. You have to read it, sweetie ;)

Orange: So yeah, this one I think is way out of your comfort zone but I really love it, so I’m picking it for you: Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan. Percy is one of my favorite boys ever! :) And just in case you don’t feel like reading it I picked one with an orange cover: I Am Number Four by Pitaccus Lore.

Red: Frigid by J. Lynn (my pick) and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins (your TBR)

Black: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi OR Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (both your TBR list)

White: Easy by Tammara Webber (my pick and a standalone) OR Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins (the last of the trilogy and I picked the second for you to read it) OR The Edge of Darkness by Melissa Andrea (there’s a lot of white in this cover).

Hope you find something you like in the middle of all of it :D

See ya
xx

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) | 1934 comments Wow, Raquel - some great picks on there!

Not sure why Memory in Death (In Death, #22) by J.D. Robb isn't on my TBR because it's definitely on my list to read this month. So that's a definite!

Also, I'm set to read Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by Laini Taylor in September for another challenge, but great pick.

But I think I will be reading The Edge of Darkness by Melissa Andrea and Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee for sure.

Hopeless (Hopeless, #1) by Colleen Hoover is definitely being considered for the future, and my 19 yr. old daughter is dying to read it. She also recently recommended Percy Jackson to me after we saw the preview for the movie.
I might also listen to Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare I love the Mortal Instruments series and the audio book was highly reviewed by LK. So we'll see.
Thanks for all the great picks - I will let you know what I think!

Since your preferred shelf is so extensive, I wanted to provide you with one choice from it for each category and as well as a second "new to you" option. This second choice was much more difficult than I originally anticipated. However, I think I've come up with a satisfactory list of recommendations. I hope that you agree.

Purple:
Glory in Death (In Death, #2) by J.D. Robb (Pick Me)
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman (New) - Well Done Magical Realism

Blue:
Lover Unleashed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #9) by J.R. Ward (Pick Me)
Making Waves by Tawna Fenske (New) - To me a lazy day read = a beach read.

Green:
Insurgent (Divergent, #2) by Veronica Roth (Pick Me)
The Eyre Affair (Thursday Next #1) by Jasper Fforde (New)- You state you love fantasy. This is a wonderfully quirky series.

Yellow:
Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews (Pick Me)
Dogs and Goddesses by Jennifer Crusie (New)

Orange:
Pleasure Bound (Hard to Get, #2) by Anne Rainey (Pick Me)
Envy by Sandra Brown (New)

Black:
Being Mrs. Dracula by Faith Marlow (Pick Me)

White:
First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones (Pick Me)
Tender Morsels by Margo Lanagan (New) A stand alone fantasy novel that's strange, but good.

If I can fit in more this month, I will read Obsession by Jennifer L. Armentrout Catching Liam (Good Girls Don't, #1) by Sophia Bleu Stardust (Peaches Monroe, #1) by Mimi Strong Crazy (Rock Me, #3) by Arabella Quinn . If not this month, then next. I would also like to get to more from your list eventually.

Sorry for the late delivery of your picks!! My real life has been getting in the way of my online life this week. Hope you didn't give up on me!

I have only been dipping my foot in the mm pool over the last year and had a really hard time finding anything in that genre that was any good AND new to you. So most of these picks are off your "Pick from Here" list or your TBR, but I did manage to find two that you hadn't listed. I hope that you find one that you can enjoy this month.

◈Purple: {Used to symbolize magic and mystery} Pick a book that has a magic or a mystery plot OR a book with a purple cover Body Magic (Triad, #2) by Poppy Dennison - from your list, it's purple AND about magic and you liked the first book, so...

◈Blue: {Coolest Color} Recommend a book that is perfect for a lazy day reading OR a book with a blue cover A Gentleman's Gentleman by Shawn Bailey , blue cover and it was recently recommended to me, hope it's good...

◈Green: {Safe Color} Pick a book from an author/theme/series that your picked has read and rated highly OR a book with green color. Collusion (Diversion #2) by Eden Winters , you really liked the first book, though this one gets mixed reviews...

◈Yellow: {Joy & Happiness} Recommend a romance OR a book with yellow cover. Noah by Ben Ryder , a book that's new to you, a sweet romance, really enjoyed these two characters, definitely a happy romance, easy read.

◈Orange: {Power Color} Recommend a book from a genre that your picked doesn't usually read; something that's out of their comfort zone OR a book with a orange cover. Gaven (Gaven, #1) by J.C. Owens , I was looking mostly for a book with an orange cover and found this on Katie's list (since she's read like a million mm stories) and she liked it. I think this one is new to you, too.

◈Red: Recommend a book that's red-hot off the press (released in the last six months) OR a book with a red cover Texas Pride by Kindle Alexander - from you TBR, released within the last six months and holy hell that cover is red hot, if you ask me.

◈Black: {Absence of color} Recommend a dystopian or a Post-apocalyptic book OR a book with a black cover Second Chances by T.A. Webb , a book with a black cover, from your TBR and I thought this book was a very good read.

◈White: {Presence of All colors} Recommend a standalone or the last book in a series OR a book with a white cover. Plan B by S.J.D. Peterson , also from your TBR, I enjoyed this book recently as well.

Hopefully one of these will appeal...if not, I can spend some more time trolling Katie's read books to see if I can find something else that might appeal.

Happy Reading!

I've chosen your books for you...

Bre,

Thanks for the great picks!! I will devour a number of them this month, I'm sure.

I'm going to start with Heaven and Hell...cuz, you know, it's been approximately a month since my last Kristen Ashley read, so it's about time for another one...and it was pretty cheap on Amazon.

I have put library holds on both Tangled and Be With Me, but there is a wait on both of them. I think I'll be able to get both of them during the month of August and if so, I would be happy to buddy read one or both of them with you. I'll let you know if I get my hands on them. (I looked into buying them on Amazon, but holy hell, Maya wants $9.99 for her book...I'm sure it's worth every penny, but...if I'm going to spend that kind of money on an e-book, I want to have already read and loved it and be sure I love it enough to read it again and again. Tangled was only $4.99, so if I run out of things to read this month, I might be willing to buy it, we'll see).

I also picked up Escape from Paradise and will slot that in later in the month.

Put Slammed and Ink Flamingos on hold at the library, but Slammed has a long wait, might be a September read. Ink Flamingos will be here by the end of the week.

You got me all excited that Full Throttle was out, I love the Fast Track series, but that doesn't drop until December (will be a perfect Christmas vacation read!)

Anyway, thanks for all the variety and a bunch of new to me books. Loved sorting through them all to pick my next reading targets.

Hugs.

Unidragonfrag For Danielle:

I had trouble picking because it was hard to sort stuff on my phone, which is why this took so long. Sorry! Anyway, you have a short to be read list, so picking from that was fairly easy, it was picking something new to you I had trouble with. The types of books you read are in a very slim genre, lol, so I tried to stick to romances... hope you find something to read from my list!

1. purple:
- Kept by Him (The Billionaire's Club #4) by Red Garnier
- Clarity (Clarity, #1) by Kim Harrington (new to you)

2. blue:
- The Duke's Night of Sin (Seven Deadly Sins, #3) by Kathryn Caskie
- Through The Wall (An Apple Trail Novella, 1) by Keri Ford (new to you)

3. green:
- Duchess By Night (Desperate Duchesses, #3) by Eloisa James
- Sex and the Single Fireman (The Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel, #3) by Jennifer Bernard (new to you)

4. yellow:
- Too Hot to Handle (Jackson, #2) by Victoria Dahl
- The Impact of You by Kendall Ryan (new to you)

5. orange:
- Sweetened With a Kiss by Lexxi Callahan

Lady Jaye (lady-jaye) | 140 comments Hi, Brandilyn,

Here are your picks for the challenge I hope you find something to enjoy:

◈Purple: {Used to symbolize magic and mystery} Pick a book that has a magic or a mystery plot OR a book with a purple cover
`
I saw The Gay Mardi Gras Murders -- A Mia Ferrari Mystery on your shelf and thought it sounded cool, so mystery novel it is :).

◈Blue: {Coolest Color} Recommend a book that is perfect for a lazy day reading OR a book with a blue cover

Happy Birthday to Me has a blue cover, and looks like it would be perfect for a lazy day reading.

◈Green: {Safe Color} Pick a book from an author/theme/series that your picked has read and rated highly OR a book with green color.

It isn't on your gang bang shelf, although it is in your to-reads: Love Ahead by Abigail Roux. You've rated her (their?) books highly, so I thought you might enjoy this one.

◈Yellow: {Joy & Happiness} Recommend a romance OR a book with yellow cover.

Since you have quite a bit of erotica on your shelves, I thought you might like to read Dragon Actually. It is actually two short stories made into a book, and quite hilarious. Plus, dragons :D.

◈Orange: {Power Color} Recommend a book from a genre that your picked doesn't usually read; something that's out of their comfort zone OR a book with a orange cover.

I don't see many paranormal romance books on your shelves, so Imma go ahead and recommend Slave to Sensation. This series, and Nalini Singh's body of work, is generally beloved in the genre. Hope you enjoy it.

◈Red: Recommend a book that's red-hot off the press (released in the last six months) OR a book with a red cover

Trick of Time seems like it will be an interesting read.

◈Black: {Absence of color} Recommend a dystopian or a Post-apocalyptic book OR a book with a black cover

Kit Rocha writes dystopian erotic romance, and I think you will like her BEYOND series. Book 1 is Beyond Shame, and incidentally has a black cover :D

◈White: {Presence of All colors} Recommend a standalone or the last book in a series OR a book with a white cover.

The novella The Wicked West by Victoria Dahl is a short, standalone outtake from one of her series. It is short, and quite good.

The Gay Mardi Gras Murders -- A Mia Ferrari Mystery (Book 2) by Sylvia Massara Happy Birthday to Me (Task Force Iota, #2.5) by Anne Tenino Love Ahead by Abigail Roux Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken Slave to Sensation (Psy-Changeling, #1) by Nalini Singh Trick of Time by J.L. Merrow Beyond Shame (Beyond, #1) by Kit Rocha The Wicked West by Victoria Dahl
