John Brooke (LionelBrooke) | 4 comments I'm a novice novelist and just completing the 7th, rewrite of my first Novel. I'm looking for readers at this stage, not neccessarily editors. The work has already been throught to independant readers before this complete rewrite. It wil be in manuscript format P'DF. Should be ready for review late August. If you are interested what would you fee be for reading and commenting on the flow of this work?

J.M. Porup (jmporup) | 3 comments hi John,

I'm an editor (and author) with more than fifteen years of experience. I'm probably best known for my Lonely Planet guidebooks to Latin America. I'm currently looking to take on new clients.

To give you an idea of what to expect to pay an experienced editor, here are the EFA's rates:

http://www.the-efa.org/res/rates.php

Actual cost, of course, depends partly on how much work your book needs. More work, higher bill. Less work, lower bill.

Drop me a line if you're interested: jm at porup dot com

cheers
Jens

J.M. Porup (jmporup) | 3 comments hi John,

I can appreciate you're on a tiny budget. But, like so many things in life, you get what you pay for... and the EFA's rates are a fair description of the current market.

You may like to swap manuscripts with other authors as a more economical way to get feedback.

good luck
Jens
