I haven't actually read this book yet, but I've encountered it a few years ago and the title escapes me. I remember it was a thin book and the cover was white with orange thingies on it. And basically at first he felt like he was being condemned by other people.. but turns out he was wrong.

Is it a YA book? Echo by Kate Morgenroth is about a young man suffering guilt after his brother is accidentally shot in front of him and he relives the accident over and over. White and orange cover.
