Fallen (Fallen, #1) Fallen question

Does This Series get better?

I found it very hard to get through the first book mostly because it felt like 3/4 of it was just waiting around for something big to happen and then by the end it all gets summed up quickly (and typically) and moves on to a cliffhanger to start the whole process over again in the next book.

I finished the 2nd book but I have no intentions of continuing the series, which is really unfortunate because the covers are beautiful.

after forcing myself to finish reading Fallen (only because i like to leave no book unfinished) i really dont think i can force myself to read another book from this series..its sad because the concept behind the story is great..but the writing just left alot to be desired

In my opinion, nom the series doesn't get better, but in fact worse; I really liked Fallen and Torment wasn't bad, but Passion bored me to death, I didn't like the whole memory and going back to past life thing, I haven't read Rapture, but I've heard its good

I wouldn't say it got worse but it didn't get better either... I felt it dragged on a little

Read the first one, thought it was slow going, and felt confused most of the book, I think it was supposed to be suspense but it was more irritating how she (the writer) kept dangling hints then just came out with it later. It wasn't even a surprise, or woo that's so cool, or anything. Anti climactic is what I'm thinking. I got this book as a gift I will be borrowing the rest of the series to finish. After reading the comments not sure I want to, because I as well was hoping it would get better. It's just good enough to make me want to read the next one. I'm wanting to really love these books. :)

I gave up on this series, which is unfortunate since it started out so well.

I hated the first one. Will never ever ever read the rest.

it doesn't get better, the first one is the only one that is bearable, the only reason i kept reading was Cam

Baron Adjei yea i think cam is probably the only interesting character in the series...all the other characters are..well..they are just not good or interesting e ...more

First two books are okay...then it gets worse from there.

Nope it doesn't get better. I read them all thinking it was going to get better and less confusing.

No! I tried so hard to continue, but when I was reading the last book I just couldn't take it anymore. I gave up on it.

For me, the first book was the best. I really liked it when I was reading it and i was so excited to read the next one. But when I read the second book, I was slightly disappointed. I personally don't think that the series gets better, I actually had difficulties continuing on with the series because the books were so boring.

No it doesn't. I just slogged through all 4.5 of them and I can't get that time back. Save yourself - this is a snoozer!

Could someone please post a link for Torment? I can't find it in my school library.

Oh God! This series is awful. I only continued the series because it was a part of my book club and I didn't want them to feel bad.

NO.

The story doesn't move fast. It is indeed boring. I read Fallen, which made me like it and continue reading the other remaining books, then read Torment, I stopped reading torment midway. Reading just half of it took me 4 months. Bc it is so much boring!

Third one was the best but it didn't explain everything, i was told to keep reading but gave up by the 3rd. Wasn't a big fan

So much hype was over this book and my friend finally persuaded me to read it, only because she lent it to me. If I'm to be honest, this is the 1 of the 2 times I have ever left a book incomplete.
I just.. I really couldn't get into it, and that disappointed me because so many people seem to love it.
I think I'll go back to it eventually though seeing as I hate leaving books half read, who knows... Maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel for me yet. :P

I've read all 4 and I have to say the answer is - no it doesn't. I didn't like the first book and it never really redeemed itself from there. The characters are poor, there's no real development and I'm not entirely sure it all made sense either

No, I'd say not.

No, no and no...!

For me it got worse. I loved the first book, liked the second, bored of the third and hated the last.

Eh... I thought they got better, but not too much. The second one was in my opinion REALLY boring, the third okay, and the first and last VERY good. With that in mind, you should read them.

1and 2 are good but 3 was a little slow going and kinda borring. and the end of the last book wasn't the greatst ending of all time like you might think

I read the first three, and they're all equally dull, characters with no development, ending in cliff-hangers etc. The only good thing about the series is covers.

Gy i agree on that

It tries to get better, it really does. The 4th one wasn't my favourite, because while there was action it got obvious, and then you watch Lauren Kate try to write herself out of a corner.

I liked the first and third I best probably.

Well it's probably different for everyone but for me, it just got very very confusing.

I'm curious about this too, but unfortunately you'll probably only really get answers from big fans you might not agree with.

I can tell you I finished the book, and it felt like a bloody marathon to do it. My hunch at the start (that it wasn't good) was right, though I'll say at least that the ending was actually pretty cool, it just wasn't enough to make me want to read the others.

But who knows if you and I even like the same books :P

Edit to add: It's really funny how everyone is saying different books are the best :P Usually there is a little more consistency.

I was quite enthralled in the beginning and quite disappointed by the end of the last book. Unfortunate as the premise had so much potential.

the first book was good and then it pretty much went downhill from there...
but hey, i've still got 1 more in the series to read and it might be good.

I liked the first 2 (but I read them a while ago and have since read many great books and if i were to go back and re-read them I don't think I would enjoy them as much), book 3 really bored me. I have only read a couple of chapters in the 4th and don't think I will go back to it any time soon. this really is one of those series where a lot of people have very different opinions on which books are best so you won't know until you read them which ones you prefer. Since you already have the first 3 your best just trying them then deciding if you want to buy the 4th or better yet get it from a library so your not wasting money if you don't like it.

it gets more and more hard to finish them! sorry to say that i didn't like them so much that i didn't even finish all of them! way to long!

the first was fucked, didn't bother with any others

I'd say they got good? I think I had a problem with book 3 though. but other then that the ending was, well, happy! and at the same time I had an unsettling feeling, like, what?? what happens next? but it's a bit thrilling, I'd say keep going! the ending book is way good! but if you're not that into it, one other book is similar to it, "Hush Hush", absolutely loved the ending to that series!

Don't know. I didn't finish it. I only read books 1 & 2.

Awww I loved this series so much. Torment was slow, it was like a book to bridge a gap, but the first, third and fourth I personally thought were amazing. A true love story!

Eh Fallen has to the be the best out of all the others only because you don't get a sense of progression with the others... Its almost like all of the things she wrote in the 2 and 3 could have been said in the first book. But none the less they were entertaining and im still lingering on the 4th because i cant bring myself to really read it, sadly .

I loved Passion and Rapture the best! I loved them! :3
