Damali | 14 comments I read a series in the mid-80s, around the time of the Challenger disaster. Each book was about a different scenario that could end the world. For instance, one was about a nuclear disaster. I believe one had the hazard symbol on the cover. There were about 5 or 6 books in the series. I would've sworn it was called The Doomsday Chronicles, but I can't find the series anywhere online. The series was written for middle schoolers.

Doomsday
as your keyword and restrict to year range, book English.
See if there's anything you recognize. Was it nonfiction?

Damali | 14 comments Good try, but I don't believe that's it.

bookel | 4029 comments Third time asking: it is non fiction???

message 10: by bookel (new)

bookel | 4029 comments If it IS non fiction, use worldcat.org advanced search to restrict to juvenile non fiction book English. If fiction use that instead. Using keyword disasters will bring up more results. Don't forget year range if you think it was published in the 80s, but you can also enter earlier than that. Good luck.

It was definitely fiction.

Damali, are you still looking for this fictional disaster series for middle schoolers or did you find it?

message 13: by Damali (new)

Damali | 14 comments I've given up. You can close the thread. :)

Damali, never give up. Just come back in periodically (like every 30 to 90 days) and bump your thread up. In that way, new members can see it and someone might ID it for you.

Yes, we can't force you to stay interested in a thread, but if there's even the smallest chance you still want these books found, I'd encourage you to leave the thread open. Maybe bump it every 6 months.

Ayshe | 4721 comments Are you sure it's not bookel's suggestion? I created the series on goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1865...
There is hazard warning symbol on Final Warning's cover: https://openlibrary.org/works/OL15842...

Damali | 14 comments Oh, my God! I think Bookel did solve this two years ago. Maybe I didn't see his/her second post with the names and descriptions. I think this is the series! Thanks!
