I've started Cloudstreet too. Fingers crossed it will go my way :)

Quite a few people seem to be re-visiting books/Old favourites with this challenge, which is great :)

Understandable, it too me three months to read it

Loved it!
My next one is the one they reviewed as the viewer classic last year, and is also one of my favourite books... Some light reading...

Every time I see your name I want to comment that you must have lost your marbles BEFORE you read Twilight, otherwise you would never have read it. :)

Which I will always give 5 stars to as it ranks in my 4 books that all sit in the Number One favourite read list!
and because I couldn't help myself (and I know it doesn't fit the list) I've also finished

:)

I love The Midwich Cuckoos. There's a really old film of it where all the children had white blonde hair and big eyes and looked alike - spooky!

The Happy Prince and Other Stories is waiting for me at the library, so I'll be able to fit that one in too. It was reviewed on 01/11/2011.

Yes, there's a few versions around - but not one of them is as good as the books - same with Day of the Triffids!

Best book club book for me this year! So funny and I hate to say it but I do know a couple of people who are in the same sphere as Don!

Well congratulations on finishing it Ben, AND giving it 5 stars!

Thanks Brenda, it definitely felt like an achievement when I got to the end.

The other was Sharp Objects which I really liked. I read it in 2 days which is very quick for me. I thought I had worked out the killer but I was wrong. It was a good read.
I am pretty easygoing with books. I generally like everything I read though, unless its really slow and I can't finish it, which is rare. Now on to September!

For 5 stars it must be good in a way. Its on the best books ever list I saw. I'm not sure I could read it though

Absolutely Kadi, it was an incredible book. The language in particular was astounding, so evocative. There's a lot of metaphor and subtext as well which I'm sure a lot just went right over my head. Tonally it was very heavy though, and very challenging to read. I don't necessarily mean that as a bad thing, but I wouldn't recommend it to others unless I am pretty sure that they would be up for it. It's very demanding of the reader, if that makes any sense?

I've literally just finished it too, and I also gave it five stars. I'm feeling a bit of melancholy - like I've lost something precious. Does anyone else sometimes feel like that after finishing a wonderful book?

Andrea, I know exactly what you mean - it took me about a week to feel whole again after finishing Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
