Elise Weber | 2 comments Written in a stylized language, sometimes difficult to follow, it's a story About an old wizard and a boy in an old run down abandoned castle. The boy often spends time in a tower or loft with birds. One day some kind of evil force attacks them and the wizard sends the boy down a road and tells him to keep going until he finds the King. The wizard is killed by this evil force that turns out to be the disembodied spirit of an evil wizard thought to be dead.

The good wizard, before he died, created a child who would have the ability to defeat the evil wizard and that's who the boy is. But the boy is very naive and unfamiliar with the world. It's his simple nature and naivete that makes the King like him and he becomes embroiled in the Kings politics.

I read the book in aprx 2006-2007. I read book one and two but the final book had not yet been published. I think it was a male author and one of the books had horses and dismounted riders ( I think) I need help remembering becaue I really want to read the final book.

Elise Weber | 2 comments Fortress in the Eye of Time, THAT's IT!!! You guys rock. thank you all so much for taking the time to help me get the name of this series. Looks like I had some things right but it looks like there's a lot more than three books. I have some reading to do.

Oh and some suggestions for new reading. Thanks again!

laurenpie | 131 comments I loved that book--thanks for the reminder, I also look forward to reading the series! Been playing two shows simultaneously this month (I'm a pianist), no time to read at all. While I do love playing shows, I can't wait for at least one run to be over so I can READ, READ, READ!!!
