I read this book earlier this year and I loved it. My heart just broke for the family members. I'm trying to talk my book club into reading this because I think it says so many important things about families and humanity, but in a nonpreachy way.

The story is holding me, but the "big words" are getting distracting. I'm college-educated and well-read, but I'm still using the Kindle's dictionary too frequently in this book. I appreciate that this is Rosie's character, but it really is distracting.

Loved this book. I thought there was a story that was so familiar yet so not. underneath it all... I felt for every single being in this family.

I tried to like it. Read 100 pages before giving up and reading the last 25 or so and then couldn't care enough to go back and fill in. I can seeing liking it at another time in my life but there was just nothing I could hook into and keep me drawn in. I just didn't care.

I greatly enjoyed this book. It wasn't a page-turner, I didn't get overly emotional, but it did connect somewhere with me. I loved the references to the mid-90's college scene especially.

I am half way through & just don't think I can slog through any more of this one... Just can't connect w/ the main character or the story.

I liked this book. The main character Rosemary, tells her story and starts in the middle of her life and jumps back and forth. Took me awhile to get into the story. It did leave me with a lot to think about how scientists treat animals today in laboratories testing products in the food and health industries. I thought it was well written.

This book has been on my TBR list since probably August and I just got around to reading it (which shows how far behind I really am on my list) but I'm glad that I finally got to it.

I don't want to say too much because so much of what happened in the book came as a total surprise to me and I don't want to ruin that for anyone who has not read the book yet so suffice it to say that I really liked the story and the way the author jumped back and forth between the beginning, middle and end of the story.

I liked the humor and I also liked the way that the author chose one character (Rosemary) and then made sure that we really got to know her, her history and why she was in the story.

A good read, I recommend it.

Great review Beth. And I agree, it's hard not to give stuff away with this book but it's so worth keeping the secret.
