Paul Apparently they are a nightmare to keep in zoos - their semi-prehensile lips are very good at manipulating latches, door handles and so on.

CAPTION, WHITE ON BLACK, SCROLLING UP: I wear Wacky Moose ...

EXT. FOREST - DAY
switch to shot of some rugged outdoor HUNK in WM clothing.

INT/EXT. FOREST ROAD - NIGHT

POV car interior, seeing through windscreen; shot of Hunk standing in the road, lit by the car headlights. The car gets closer and closer.

FADE TO BLACK SCREEN
(OS)
The sound of a car crash - the thudof a car hitting something, all jangling metal, breaking glass...

EXT. FOREST ROAD - NIGHT

The car is a write-off.

the Hunk is rubbing his elbow.

HUNK
'Ouch, that stings...

CAPTION, RED ON BLACK, SCROLLING DOWN: Because nothing else is tough enough...

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Perfect! If Hunk had been wearing whatever kangaroos like to steal off the back of tourists, he'd been dead and in several pieces after a crash like that.

I almost feel like I should have a jacket like that myself after reading the scene you just wrote!

message 103: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Definitely, there's a place here called something odd like that. I can't remember the name. I'll have to ask Kurt and get back to you. I can't believe I can't remember, it's a motel anyway and 'trading post' but the trading post part is mostly gone now.

message 104: by Anne (last edited Aug 25, 2009 07:47AM) (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Words today: a meager 235, but I musn't be greedy.

I'm the same: the things closest to home will always be the things I can never remember the name of. I'd love to visit a real trading post! Do people still trade this for that, or is it mainly ordinary trade with money as substitute?

message 105: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Renee- WE've a trading post here on the Reservation. IT's full of origional indian works that are made in China.

Teresa- your comment, " They are just not very bright, not at all like cows or pigs" - did that mean to say that cows are smart?

I've found nothing more able to teach a man to swear than herding cows. YOu give them a nice big opening to go through- and they'll stumble through the nearest barbedwire fence. Or do something equally stupid.

I suppose each species has a few smartones, but the rest of the animals can't hardly keep up.

message 106: by Anne (last edited Aug 25, 2009 08:45AM) (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Well, the cows I've met haven't been smart as such, but at least I have been able to make them move either by cutting off their retreat, or talking to them while holding a tea towel in front of them as bait (worked with my neighbours cows, they had a thing for cloth) or as a last resort; playing the radio at them really loud. Not kind, but desperate times call for desperate measures. But nothing would work on the moose in the garage. : (

message 107: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) The Unconventional Moose. That's what Kurt thinks its called. We had a 'debate' and we're going to drive out there later this week to see if he's right.

message 108: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments A nice name, but perhaps not as intriguing as Wacky Moose. Maybe more suited to a motel though.

message 109: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) If it were mine, I'd call it the wacky moose or maybe the Mad Moose.

message 110: by Anne (last edited Aug 25, 2009 07:28PM) (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments The Mad Moose Motel would be a lovely name! Would all your rooms be in greens and browns?

message 111: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I think a Mad Moose would paint the rooms blue and orange, and pink and red, and purple and neon green with plaids and polka dots everywhere. It would be fabulous. The lamps would be made out of wierd things like tree stumps or boots. The beds would be strung from the ceiling and the shower would be outside. I would make so much money. Oh, and the toilets would be lazyboy recliners (with holes cut out to accomodate elimination). When I have money (some day) I'm opening hte Mad Moose MOtel.

message 112: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) I think your Lazy Boy potties would make people feel like they were having a potty dream while wetting the bed.

Though I bet some guys would really dig it- just put the remote and the phone on the table beside the chair, the TV in front- the window for food deliveries beside it- and wa la! no reason to miss the game, ever.

message 113: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Maybe there won't be a bathroom, maybe the toilet/chair would be in the room across from the bed. Cool, unless you have company and you've eaten some bad sushi.

message 114: by Paul (new)

Paul That's a wonderfully disgusting image, Renee!

message 115: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) I know, I love it.

message 116: by Anne (last edited Aug 26, 2009 04:10AM) (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Sounds like a very special place, Renee! I think I would like the blue and orange room for one night only. It would be just like one of those weird dreams that stay with you all day long! And I bet that the drinks in the bar (if there is a bar) would be equally colorful and strange. Of course, with interior decorating like that, who needs to add alcohol? :)

Nearly forgot: words today = 794

message 117: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Do we ever need to add alcohol? Well, sometimes I suppose we do. There would definitely be a bar. How could you not in a place like that?

message 118: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments If you don't want the job yourself, be sure to let me know if you need a barmaid or servingperson! I'd love to be able to put The Mad Moose Motel on my CV!

message 119: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) You've got the job for sure.

message 125: by Paul (new)

Paul Teresa, you are becoming the model of consistency the rest of us should aspire to!

message 126: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Thank you, Paul! I almost dare to believe that I have managed to create a good habit for myself! Now all I need is the ability to spell, to edit, and all the rest. :)

message 127: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Another 4178 words, but my eyes now look like those of a rabbit. I either have to learn how to type with my eyes closed or figure something out should I be struck by this kind of inspiration a second time in my life.

message 128: by Renee (new)

Renee (rjmiller) Awesome Teresa. See, typing is good.

Renee (rjmiller) I'm much better today. Just the headache left. Believe me, that's nothing.

Paul Getting better and better!

message 143: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) HOwdy teresa, I'm just getting done with corn season and stopped by to say hello.

Your counts are awesome.

message 144: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Thanks, Paul! I will try to get better soon again, there's a lot of room for improvement at the moment. Words yesterday? Maybe 30. :-)

Hello there, Wendy! Glad to see that the corn picking is done, I hope you may have some well earned rest with your feet up! Thank you, I did do well for a bit but now I have been very lazy so it's time to start all over again.

message 145: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Words today: 920 on a horrible keyboard that sounds like wet slippers on cement when I type.

message 146: by Paul (new)

Paul Great image - wet slippers on cement.

message 147: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Paul wrote: "Great image - wet slippers on cement."
It is a very chilling sound!

message 148: by Paul (new)

Paul Something out of the depths, drowned horribly perhaps, is comng to get you.

Ssssccchlapppp. Ssssccchlapppp.Ssssccchlapppp.

Scary!!

message 149: by Anne (new)

Anne (mekone) | 225 comments Something that drowned horribly and is cursed to live forever in the sounds of typing. I shall just have to either go back to writing by hand or buy a new keyboard. Or do I need a good exorsist?
