Does it really sound like Twilight????

I don't mean this in a bad way AT ALL, i love your writing, but is is a bit like twilight. WIth the cafeteria scene pointing out a hot guy staring at her and then the shadow watching her sleep...There are a LOT of really good ideas in this, but so many people have read twilight, that they're bound to pick up things that are similar. All good writers are inspired by OTHER great books, but usually no one can tell where they got the idea from. Twilight is just REALLY popular so if anything is close to it, a bunch of people notice. I have it worse actually. In my book, I used the names Jacob AND Alice so people ALWAYS draw comparisons.
I admit to getting the names from twilight, but the character's themselves are COMPLETELY unlike their twilight counterparts. I know I have to struggle not to sound like twilight when I love those books SO much that they keep trying to make their way into my writing.
But back to your story, I don't think that being similar to twilight hurts it in ANY way! Your book is plenty unique and I think people will love it no matter what.
I like it, but twilight is an evil death trap. Stay away from it.
That's what I think, but right now I'm insanely sick of vamps& werewolves so I'm biased. I really do like it tho

Your story is fantastic, very mysterious and hooking, but there are some similarites to Twilight. Your protagonist is kind of a "Plain Jane". Like Bella in Twilight, Jayden is described as ordinary, clumsy, humble, and she acts older than her peers. Also, Adrien and Jack are similar to the mythological creatures of Stephanie Meyer. If you do not wish to be compared to Twilight you may want to use the original creatures from historical mythology or create your own.
But despite these similarities, your story is very good! Your discriptions for Jayden's dreams are really cool, especially how they mix in with her life. You have succeeded in mixing sleep with her awakened state. I applaud you.
