Book covers do not get updated on GR because people who have the original cover may want it to match on GR. The policy is to add an alternate book cover edition. However, we unfortunately can't use Amazon as a data source which means we can't use the book cover from Amazon. If you can upload the book cover somewhere else, like your website, we can grab it from there and create an alternate book cover edition with it.As for your name, since you are a Goodreads Author, I believe you're the only one who can edit your profile. If it won't let you change your name, you may need to contact GR staff (librarians aren't staff).
Robin, since not long after Amazon acquired GR we have been able to use Amazon as a source for book data. There's an annoucement somewhere in the discussion posts, but I'm too lazy to search all those millions of posts right now. I'm sure one of the more dedicated forum helpers can unearth the post that will prove my memory correct.

Robin & Sarah, it is the 2nd post at the top of the librarian page. And yes we can use all Amazon data now.And GR authors & staff are the only ones who can edit their details. So Leanne if you are having trouble editing I suggest you contact the GR author group for advice.
Alright Leanne, I've created an alternate cover edition for Units, combined them together under Lea Williamson (as Sandra said, Librarians have no authority to change a GR author's details, so I can't help you there, but when the PTB change your name everything will shift across to the new you) and noted in the description and made a librarian note that it is indeed an alternate cover edition to avoid it getting removed. I hope everything is as you wanted.

That must have been before May 23rd and I didn't notice the change!
Robin, unless you sat glued to the computer while the upheaval was going on you were guaranteed to miss something. There were so many people posting their views and responses that there were 20 new notifications everytime you refreshed the page, and that's if you only did every minute or so. I was just lucky enough to notice the relevant post and immediately began taking advantage of the change with relish (suddenly a ton of my books had cover images to go with the obscure editions my library is filled with). Anyway, now you know and can also take advantage if you feel so inclined.

1) Book is published under Lea Williamson and is for sale under that name for some amount of time (how long?)
2) Cover is then changed and the book is re-released under Leanne Williamson. (when?)
Hi Rivka. No that's not correct. It's published as Leanne Williamson. A year or so before I published it, I added it to GR and was going to publish as Lea Williamson at the time.Sarah, thank you so much!

It's never been published as the original cover I had for the book (the purple one).

The log indicates that you self-published it under that cover in 2012.
No they're not my books.I just added the book to get it out there prior to publishing. It wasn't even finished back then. It's only just been published in the last few days for the first time

We have decided that Leanne Williamson and Lea Williamson are close enough to merge those profiles. Because we have more than one author named Leanne Williamson, you are Leanne-2space-Williamson. The extra space between your first and last names only shows up on book edit pages and your profile edit page, but it tells the system which books are yours. When adding a book manually, be sure to include the extra space, and the book will go where it belongs. If you forget, post a new thread in this group and any librarian can fix it for you.

Thank you. I added the ISBNs that I was assigned when I set up my createspace account (on the first day) but it had not been published at the time. Not even reviewed. I feel like i'm in trouble here :(Thank you for all you have done but I'm very new to this and your tone has came across a little snarky with me.
I finally published my book, Units, using Amazon in paperback and ebook versions.
I'd really like to change my photo and author name on my book here on GR to match my final version.
My author name here is Lea Williamson which i'd like to be changed to Leanne Williamson.
My book cover is old and i'd like to update it to the one on my amazon listing.
