Borrowed this off a friend this evening. It looks exciting.
Started The Club Dumas last night (by which I mean, pulled it off the shelf and set it on the coffee table). Its premise sounds really interesting, so I am eager to see what it's like.

I'm definitely enjoying it. I've just never worked so hard to follow the path of writing before. Lol
Just started The Poisonwood Bible. Wasn't too excited when I picked it up, but now I'm about 50 pages in and I'm loving it.
Halfway through Roxana by Daniel Defoe. Coming to the conclusion that I don't like his storytelling. But, it's the last one on this list for me (out of a whopping 3), and it'll feel good to have one author's works done with. (As far as this list goes, of course.)
Started:Mary Barton
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
And considering re-reading House of Leaves, since I think I ran through it a bit too quickly my first time around.

4 GREATEST STARS

Starting A Prayer for Owen Meany. This has been languishing on my shelf for over a decade. I've kind of been saving it. For right now, it seems.
Tale of Two Cities (again) on Kindle. The Things They Carried on audio.
Still plodding through Finnegan's Wake in paper.
Have been reading The Jungle by Upton Sinclair and The Glass Key by Dashiell Hammett for a few days now. Both gritty and mean, but for quite different reasons.
On audio, Edith Wharton House of Mirth, I love her writing style! On Kindle, Hemingway The Old Man and The Sea.
Started The Golden Bowl (*shudder*) and Suite Française. I really can't wait to just get all the Henry Jameses out of my way.
Started The Turn of the Screw and The Grapes of Wraith. I'm really enjoying the latter one so far and I'm hoping that the former one will be really scary.
Stephanie "Jedigal" wrote: "Eliot's Silas Marner."Thats one of my favorite all time books, have you read middlemarch? I never did but everyone says it is better than Silas which I can hardly believe let me know please.
I'm in the middle of The Accidental. I really enjoy some parts of it, others are just incredibly strange.

Hi Steve, the only other Eliot I've read was Adam Bede. I give 5* to Silas, having just finished this weekend, but only 3* to Adam. I'm interested to see how Middlemarch stacks up.
On Kindle, Robinson Crusoe. (I plan to follow it with Coetzee's Foe.)On audio, Great Expectations.
So far, enjoying both.
Crud. I don't know why I had in my head that Foe was available for Kindle. Only a few Coetzee titles are. So while I wait for a paper copy to get to me, I'm taking up Wilkie Collins' Moonstone on kindle. I understand a character refers regularly to Robinson Crusoe, so at least I'll have some connection with the RC story while I wait for Foe in the mail.
Just started Home by Marilyn Robinson. Absolutely love it at the moment, about halfway through. Reminds me of The Gathering - Anne Enright...
