I remove any books we've either read or already added to the schedule.

I know people will be reading Words of Radiance when it comes out regardless of what the group does.
My only reason for suggesting The Way of Kings beforehand was for anyone who wanted to catch up/re-read before the new book comes out. Personally I just read it last year, so I'd jump into conversation, but don't plan to re-read it.
I'm also OK with not participating in every read.

I'm not sure where Summat was getting his list from unless it was one of my previous posts. As Andreas mentioned, we have/use a Listopia.
It's not the end all authority on what we'll read next. In fact most of our last few reads weren't on the list, or were much lower, but there was traction to read them.
Right now the Current Top 5 are:
1) The Way of Kings (24 votes)
2) Blood Song (18 votes)
3) The Black Prism (15 votes)
4) The Black Company (14 votes)
5) Consider Phlebas (12 votes)
This changes as people change their list and possibly rankings (the first book on your list is weighted the highest)

I debated making this another post, but I don't need to skew my post stats any higher.
Right Now I'm seeing:
The Way of Kings
Will Read/Re-read
Bill (Reread If not before Mid-February)
Nienna (reread)

I would reread Black Company and read the rest of the series if the group continued with it.I would also read The Black Prism. It would be another reread. But I haven't read the 2nd book yet.
alright. I keep updating post 228 when it gets too far up the list I'll repost the stuff as I change it.
I haven't read Heroes Die or Blood Song, so either would be cool with me. Aside from that, I'd probably heckle in the discussion threads... so basically, the same level of participation that I always have.
Have Heroes die on hold, read blood song and black company up to book 6, but can do a reread its long over due.
@Rob Ya i picked up the list from your previous post, sorry i thought was the list. Also i am for
1.Black company
2.Heroes die
3.Chronicles of thomas covenant.
How's mid February for everyone sound? Say 2/16? This sounds good to me, but looks like i am going to juggle lot of books
1.I am already doing group read of malazan.
2.After stone wielder i am starting with Orb sceptre and throne
3.Halfway through New spring book in wheel of time series.
I might re-read The Way of Kings but will definitely participate in discussion. I'll read Heroes Die with you guys. I have $125 in amazon gift cards from Christmas...
Dara wrote: "I might re-read The Way of Kings but will definitely participate in discussion. I'll read Heroes Die with you guys. I have $125 in amazon gift cards from Christmas..."I got $100 worth of gift cards for B&N... they lasted about one week. Lol. (They went towards my Discworld collection).

I haven't read Discworld but I heard it's good! For some reason I haven't used mine yet. I can't decide on what I want.
I put a hold on book 1 of Discworld(ebook) at my library in August and am still 15 on the hold list. The physical copy has over 40 on the hold list. I got $125 in amazon gift cards and have spent about $50. I was going to preorder some books coming out this year but they are like $12 each which just seems crazy to me.
I've got the first few Discworld books to read and would be up for that at some point..
I had $50 for amazon and another $140 in cash/checks. I spent that already on anime and some clothes, plus some crap for my house..alas..

Rob wrote: "I've got the first few Discworld books to read and would be up for that at some point."I would highly recommend starting almost anywhere other than with The Color of Magic. Then again, while they had some clever lines (but what Discworld book doesn't?), I was never a huge fan of Rincewind.
In case you haven't seen something like this before...
http://www.lspace.org/books/reading-o...
I'm partial to the Watch and Industrial Revolution Novels, but my favorite set of books (Pyramids -> Small Gods -> Thief of Time -> Night Watch) take place almost entirely outside of that set.
My favorite individual book in the series is either Thief of Time or Monstrous Regiment (a practical stand-alone, which is where I started Discworld and is honestly a pretty good intro). I would be completely down for re-reading either with the group. In fact, I may just start re-reading them now...
The Color of Magic is one of my favorite books. I just reread it this week actually. But I've heard it's hard for other readers to get into. The Discworld series looks huge but it isn't as bad as it seems. Most of the books fall into sub series. There are the Rincewind books, the Witches, the Guards, and Death (yes, Death is an actual character). All of the books (and sub series) are connected but not all are necessary to read to understand.
So technically you could start with:
The Color of Magic - the 1st Rincewind book. And book #1.
Equal Rites-the 1st Witches book. And book #3.
Mort-the 1st Death book. And book #4.
Or,
Guards! Guards!-the 1st Guards book. And book #8.
OK, let's shelve this discworld conversation unless it's to discuss a group read. I'd like to try to keep the thread on topic... Unlike the last one.
We can always start another thread to discuss disc world.
Thanks.

I'm rereading them this year. And the ones I haven't read. Haven't really decided on any order yet. I've read The Color of Magic and will read the 2nd Rincewind book next. But I'm not sure if I'm going by series order or by sub series.
I am still up for Blood Song and Consider Phlebas whenever we get to those.Also...Discworld, I've read the first dozen or so but want to carry on in the series :)
@Sumant How are you liking Esslemont's novels so far?I think Return of crimson guard was difficult to go through,Night of knives was a definite improvement and stonewielder is awesome.
So I started reading Heroes Die. And then I bought it on Audible, so I can read/listen to it. This guys accent is driving me crazy! I can't place it. Its not bad, its just different. (I started reading it early because I read slow.)
So I know Alex didn't like it, but I just got my copy of Hollow World from Michael J. Sullivan (he's sending out books early if you buy direct from him, and all physical/audiobook pre-orders get an advanced copy in ebook form as well).
Is anyone interested in reading that? I believe the actual release date is April 15th for anyone who plans to do it in audio or don't buy it from him.
Otherwise I'm just going to read it once I finish Words of Radiance

Oh and since he's so active on good reads, I image I could get him to come and do a Q&A thread like Mr. Wexler did for 1k Names.
Well since you're the only one to respond so far, so probably not.
I figure if no one else responds by the time I catch up to the Malazan read, I'm just going to read it on my own.

I am busy with WoR at the moment and will be for sometime - I am not the fastest reader in the world. This is a book I will look at some point.
Alex wrote: "If enough people are interested, I would pick up Hollow World again as a group read and give it another shot."Sorry, I'm not particularly impressed by Sullivan's storytelling. I've read two of his works and would just like to read some other author instead as a BotM.
I'd be interested, but it basically comes out the same time as Shadow Campaign, which as a sequel I prefer to starting yet another series..
Maybe in late July or August if people are willing to wait. I suspect people will be split though.

Yeah, but my audio book queue is really backed up ATM. It won't happen until late summer at the earliest.
That's totally cool with me. There's quite a bit I'd like to read in the next few months between Malazan books. I just remembered when I was taking to my boyfriend about Minas Morgul and simultaneously watching The Hobbit part 1.That might be maximum nerdery btw... at least 8/10 swords or some nerdy scale...
Rob, do you still have plans of doing a LOTR re-read this year? LOTR books have been lying on my shelves for quite a time now, i am in too for it.
So we can't get any traction on an April choice, but we have a bunch of takers on something for months down the road...
WoR seemed to stir up some interest in Warbreaker. And for an out-of-nowhere suggestion, today I bought The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Don't know if it's any good, but we could try it.
I probably won't have time to read anything until mid to late April. I have two books to read first, plus about 150 pages a week for Malazan.
I'd be up forWarbreaker. I'm not really up for The Maze Runner though.

I just started Mistborn: The Final Empire, but am down for Warbreaker next month. I noticed that a July read was mentioned. That's when Tower Lord will be released. I'll be reading it during that time. It's one of my top 2 most highly anticipated books of the year.
Seems like there is enough interest in Warbreaker. I can probably start around the 17th or 18th maybe. It's hard to guess since I have 2 books to read first and I'm not really reading as much in the last week or so.
I think I'm still recovering from all the reading I did for Words of Radiance

So I'm going to give this one last shot before giving up for the month. There seemed to be interest in reading Warbreaker at least, but I got no feedback on dates (Around the 17th or 18th).
Maybe everyone is just burned out from Words of Radiance?
