The Not a Book Club Club discussion
Suggest a book for a group read

I'm not hurting for books to read, and if I do audio it'll have to be timed to fit in. I'll probably decide closer to release (2/20) if I want to spend a credit or see about getting the text.
I'm already over budget (I get 24/year and I've used more than the 2/month I'm supposed 3 months into the year) on credits though, so I could stand to listen to a few previously purchased books and/or library books to save credits.

I haven't looked at page count/audio length. Sometimes short books are pretty cheap to buy w/o a credit.
I'll have to take a look before deciding what to do. I always hate to spend a credit on books shorter than 15 hours though.

Not sure if I will be finished with my current book in time to join you though, it's a whopper and I'm strapped for reading time.

My friend and I got tickets for the Worldbuilder party again - we get to play a game with Django Wexler this time - yay! I'm glad I finished that last book!

As for Two Serpents Rise - I'm curious about how it feels with continuing world but non-continuing characters. I'm glad we'll read it before I have time to forget the last one.
Two books coming out in April I plan to read. Both are sequels to books we've read.
Grey Sister April 3
Head On April 17
Anyone else planning on reading either book?

Can’t join in when you guys read this, it’s not released till may in the uk.
Oh, double bummer. Of the two, that's the one I'm looking forward to the most.
Isn't Mark Lawrence British? If anything shouldn't it be coming out in the UK first?

Definite no for Grey Sister. First book didn't draw me in enough to continue on with the series.
New Magic 2.0 book in June! Not sure if it's another audible exclusive again, but I do audio anyways.

I do need to get back to that. My reading has been awful lately. I've been on the same book for almost a month. Life hasn't been conducive to reading for me lately..
Maybe in late May?

Yes! I'm really looking forward to that one!
Maybe we should change this from the Not a Book Club Club to the Rob and Suzanne do Buddy Reads group. :-P

Also, I'm up for Uhtred whenever you want.
OK. I'll schedule The Flame Bearer for May 21st. That work for you guys?
Anyone else planning to join us? We used to have a lot more Uhtred readers

Is that the end though? I thought someone told me he's writing more. I hope it's the end..

Me too. I feel like he's dragging it out too much now.

You're cheating on us with another group? Do you give them cookies too? :(

No cookies are given to strangers or the uninitiated.
I admit to extensive research in the "Around the world in 80 books" group though, in order to find location-specific reads for my various literary trips. I'm doing a "Geographical Europe Trip", a "Tour de France" (all provinces before they changed the provincial borders), and a "South Pacific Cruise". One book per country/province/island. It's great fun! (You can look at my (slow) progress here, but it's in German)

Are you guys interested in doing a group read? We don't have to do it release day if we want to wait for Ctgt to get his library copy.
