OK, so the book im looking for is around the age range is around YA/middle school, that sort of thing. I only remember certain parts of the book, but the things I'm pretty sure about is that it was from a first person boy narrative set in modern day.

How long ago did you read the book? Was the modern boy transported into King Arthur's time? Or, did the entire thing take place in modern times? If there are any other thing you remember, no matter how fuzzy, please post. They may ring a bell for someone.
Corbenic? This was about a modern day boy who finds himself among a group of people who (I believe) he thinks are Ren Faire actors but who are really King Arthur-type people.

Sam~ on sleepless roads the sleepless go~ wrote: "The Merchant of Death and the rest of that series maybe?"Though the main character of the series has the last name Pendragon, the books have no connection to Arthurian legend. Trust me--I've read them all.
I read the book at least 5 years ago when I was in school from a scholastic book fair haha. Im pretty sure for the most part the entire thing took place in modern time. The only part I really remember from the book was the ending(view spoiler)
thats all I can really remember, its been such a long time since I have read it but it was one of my favorite books.
The Merlin Conspiracy
? I can't tell in its description if Merlin Conspiracy is set in modern times, however.
Avalon HighTo newcomer Ellie, Avalon High seems like a typical American high school, complete with jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, and even the obligatory senior class president, quarterback, and all-around good guy. But it doesn't take Ellie long to suspect that something weird is going on beneath the glossy surface of this tranquil hall of learning. As she pieces together the meaning of this unfolding drama, she begins to recognize some haunting Arthurian echoes, causing her to worry that she has become just a pawn in mythic history
I'm pretty sure this is it. The time seems right considering I read this about five years ago also.
This isn't really YA but it has a young boy protagonist (view spoiler) and is set in modern times. The Broken Sword
