wowthatsnotgood | 6 comments This is a book I started reading in the sixth grade and never got the chance to finish.
I'm 22 now so I'm not sure how much I remember but I often find myself thinking about these books I started and didn't finish so I'll give it a shot. There's a cellar and a young girl, there was a part about sheet music, there was young guy as well I believe maybe he was in the war? It was kind of a mystery I think and maybe time travel was involved? Sorry this isn't much to go on but I hope there's someone out there who can help me :)

Also in case this helps I'm Canadian and the book was pink, small like a harlequin romance in size, and I believe the picture was of the girl looking into the cellar so her back is turned and you mostly see her big hat

Thanks!

WWI or WWII? Was it a romance? And how long ago were you in 6th grade?

wowthatsnotgood | 6 comments I can't remember the war but the book cover the style of clothing looked like Anne of green gables and I was in the sixth grade in 2002-2003

Emily | 140 comments Could it be The Root Cellar?

wowthatsnotgood | 6 comments YES! Wow thanks so much! I'm surprised anyone would be able to recognize it with my description but I'm almost positive that's it! Also I thought the title had the word cellar in it but I kept getting some horror novel in search engines so I figured I was wrong. Anyway thanks so much :)

bookel | 4027 comments I agree, The root cellar by Janet Lunn is what I thought. Cover matches and it's a Canadian time travel story.

AND it seems to be really popular. This is the third time that someone has looked for it.

I've added this thread to it on the bookshelf and moved this down to Solved
