Love Unscripted - Tina Reber
The Accidental Bachelor - Tim Holsten
Brittany wrote: "Here is what I have for this week (QUITE/PIE)Just to be sure: the WoW is QUIT without the E at the end - I had a lot of trouble finding books as well, because the Kindle will give you results that contain "quite" instead of "quit", but it has to be exact :)
HAha, stupid auto correct lol .. yes the WoW is QUIT without the E. I kept getting "quite" too. very hard week. :)
Randomizer had to pick the one bonus I didn't want this week.I only have U or T with pie right now, but I will look for more today at work.
U - Rabbit, Run by John Updike
T - The Surrogate: A Novel by Tania Carver
I have That Summer in Cornwall for T and The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop & Cafe for I. That's all I have....also have The Ides of April for I
OK, so based on what you all have written so far, how does this look to everybody:Q: Camilla
U: Turtlecollector
I: Catherine/Brittany
T: Catherine/Brittany
Catherine and Brittany - since you both have books for T and I, do you have any preferences?
That will work for me. It is the book I preferred to read since I need to read it this month anyway.
Miriam wrote: "Where did u find that cute pic of the turtle?"I found it one day in a google image search for turtles.
Great, then it's decided! :) Happy weekend and happy reading, ladies!

Finished!!Lettre: T
Book: That Summer in Cornwall by Ciji Ware
WoW: Quit: Yes..pg 81.."Well, I quit 4H at about thirteen when I got into rodeo riding."
Bonus WoW: Pie: Yes..pg 94.."'And Mrs. Quiller's blackberry pie!'"
Review: well as expected....it was an excellent read. It takes you into the moors and downs of Devonshire...the quaint village life, the "simple" life complicated by normal trials....I have read 3 others by Ciji Ware and have loved every one. Whilst this one takes place in the present, in it's entirety...I do enjoy the fact that it encompasses historically relevant areas

And I finished my book for QUIT week last night:Book:
by Matthew QuickMy letter: Q
Read on September 8th to 9th
Review: I saw the film last year and really liked it - I liked the book even more! A great balance between the absurdity, sadness and love that surrounds people who exist a bit outside society's rules for "normal behaviour"! And I loved all the book and football references :)
WoW: "...and then Danny walked out of my room and Jackie quit grunting... "
Page 252
Bonus: "The three courses Ronnie had promised turns out to be beer, lasagna garnished with baked asparagus, and key lime pie."
Page 49
And now, I realise that I've been the last person to post each week, but next week is the final one and as there are SIX teams tied for first place, it will all come down to speed. The team that first reads their books and posts wins!
Since we know it can be one of two options, should we maybe have a look before Monday, so we can sort our books before the word is called? That way we can start reading right away on Friday :)
I luckily have the afternoon off, so I can hopefully start as soon as the word is called :)
I have checked and have books that work for all the letters in both words with both bonuses :)
I just went through my books :) I have the following that will work with both of the bonus words. W - 4 books
I - 1 book
D- 1 book
E - 0 books
H - 3 books
O - 1 book
M - 1 book
E - 0 books
Brittany wrote: "I just went through my books :) I have the following that will work with both of the bonus words."Great, Brittany! That's a perfect way of setting it up :) If we all do that and then maybe state our preferences, then we should be all set come Friday :)
I am really hoping I can have E on Friday. It won't matter which word is called that way and I can start right away reading it on Friday morning. I should be able to finish that book in one day.I am not going to have much reading time on Sat or Sun, I have family obligations both days with an aunt who is visiting from Wisconsin, a mini-family reunion, and a birthday celebration for 3 members of my immediate family. I did not realize earlier that it would end up being the last week of this game.
That being said, I do have books for the other letters, they would just take me longer to read them I think. The only one I don't have right now is M if lawyer is the bonus.
W- Watch Them Die by Kevin O'Brien
I- Immortal in Death by J D Robb
D- Immortal in Death by J D Robb
E- When a Secret Kills by Lynette Eason
H- House of Evidence by Viktor Arnar Ingolfsson (lawyer)
H- Tithe by Holly Black (fan)
O- Watch Them Die by Kevin O'Brien
M- Scarlet by Marissa Meyer (fan)
E- When a Secret Kills by Lynette Eason
I'm perfectly fine with you having the E as well, TC! And don't worry at all about being busy - real life is always more important and you wouldn't want to miss a weekend of what sounds like a bunch of fun! :)And since an E-book matches for both words, that's perfect, you can just start it on Friday after the word is called :)
Let's wait and see what Catherine has and then hopefully divide the rest of the letters among the three of us :)
Catherine wrote: "hey there...I haven't even begun to peruse my list!"No problem, take your time, we're in no rush :) As long as we're ready by Friday, we're good :)
Turtlecollector wrote: "I finished my book for this week and will post my review later today or tonight."Great!
Week 8: Quit/PieMy letter is U
Rabbit, Run by John Updike
read 9/9/13 - 2 stars
For me this is not a Top 100 book, but it was on the list so I read it anyway. It is about a man who runs away from his wife and child when she is pregnant, lives with a mistress, and then goes back to his wife when she has the baby. Then, of course something tragic happens, and he runs away again. Maybe if read in the time period it was written for, it would have more of an impact. I just found it dull. I am almost halfway through this list now and my review of these books are all over the place without consistent likes or dislikes.
WOW: quit
pg 98 - "I quit smoking."
Bonus: pie
pg 33 - "...and to go with it a piece of apple pie..."
Week 6: QUIT/PIEMy letter is I
by Joss Woodread 9/11/13 - 5 STARS
Word Of Week: QUIT
Location 2279 - "His shirt was soaked to his body but Jack refused to quit."
Bonus: PIE
Location 2117 - "She was also on the brink of losing her mind, and her life was a pie chart of confusion."
REVIEW
I love these books. Not just by Joss Wood but all of the Harlequin Kiss books! Definitely will recommend!!

Hey ladies,OK, I'm still at work, so it will have to be quick - I'll send Catherine a message, so we can get the letters sorted ASAP!
Turtlecollector, you have the E for sure! Go ahead with that
Brittany, any preferences?
Brittany wrote: "Nope I have at least one book for the other three letters."Well, if you want to start (since we have the time issue), I say just start whichever book you most want to read :)
Brittany wrote: "I will do the letter "W" but if Catherine wants it I can change quickly."OK, sounds good :)
Just woke up late for a change. Will start my E book now for about half hour before work, take it to read during lunch, and then finish it up tonight after work. I leave really early tomorrow morning for the first five hour driving leg to get to my family reunion.

Review: A lovely and strange book... Heartbreaking and sweet in that very dreamy sense that I have come to associate with most Japanese writing.
