R4: Team ~ Page Sizzling Sisters ~ Denver

I like Page Sizzlin Sisters too. Regina any thoughts on that?
Can I just say, I think Pork is going to be the word that is the hardest. So far I haven't found much...nothing for P and R.

Please let me know if you can help out during that week. If no one can, I'll check with Jenne. I think we can post for points after the 11:59 pm deadline as long as all books were read by then so it might not be a huge deal, but I just want to be covered if possible.
Thanks!

Other than pork, I think I'm pretty covered...although the Y in baby is kinda sparse. I really want to be covered especially for when I'm gone so y'all can just assign me a letter that works.

Meaning a newspaper headline. That works, yes?

My Review: More Than You Know is a story about three adult sisters who gather at their mother's home after she passed away. Together the girls have to arrange the funeral service while sorting through the things in their childhood hom-e and theymust sort through the emotions as well. They find there was a part of their beloved mother they knew nothing about and must process this on top of everything else while also dealing with crises in their own lives.
This book was a quick summer read and, while it wasn't a favorite for me, it was pleasant enough.
Bonus Items:

Newspaper:It was a collection of fragile, yellow newspaper clippings. pg 89

No worries. It's your first time. We'll make you an old pro in no time. :-)

I have read just about every book or novella that Jennifer Estep has out in the world. And those few that I haven’t read, I definitely plan to. Her Bigtime series is hilarious, her Elemental Assassin series is kickass, but it’s her Mythos Academy series that is my favorite. I’m sure part of that comes from my love of mythology, but this series is such a great mix of funny and kickass, not to mention Jennifer’s writing is so freaking good.
In Midnight Frost, the action picks up pretty much where we left off, although it’s a little less action and a lot more feelings and dealing with the aftermath of Crimson Frost in the very beginning. Of course the Reapers are up to their old tricks and we get to see Vivian and Agrona again. I cannot wait for the day that those two get what’s coming to them. Due to the Reapers games, Gwen and her friends have to go to the Denver Mythos Academy to collect something and it’s in Denver that we learn some very interesting information about Gwen’s father, get a nice cryptic visit from Nike and watch Gwen make another animal friend.
What I loved about this book is that it showed tremendous growth from Gwen. She’s no longer the whiney woe is me Gwen she was in the beginning of the series. Sure she gripes about her lot in life and the stuff that has happened to her because of the Reapers and her part in the Mythos world. But she takes her mission seriously and she realizes that she has to do what she has to do even if it breaks her a little to do so. None of what she’s faced with is easy, but she’s not going to back down even if Logan has broken her heart or she’s hurt and scared. This is her world and she’s going to fight to make sure that nothing happens to her or the people that she loves.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series. At the moment Estep is only contracted for one more book which is Killer Frost. There is a heck of a lot of stuff that’s going to have to go down in that book to finish this series off, but I’m looking forward to it. And if she’s able to get the okay for more in the series, then I’m ready for that too. I don’t really want to leave this world anytime soon. And I would really love to get more Logan if Jennifer’s taking any requests.

I've finished my book and will post my review on my lunch hour today!

Review:
I'm a big fan of Seanan McGuire's October Daye series as well as the Newsflesh trilogy she wrote under her pseudonym, Mira Grant. So it should be no surprise that I really enjoyed this book. It did, however, suffer a little from "first book syndrome," with a lot of information being thrown at you, which sometimes caused me to be taken out of the action of the story. I always wanted to keep reading though. I loved the quotes that started each chapter, and I also loved the glimpses we saw of the Aeslin mice (I'm a sucker for talking animals, lol). There is definitely a lot of potential here for a great series, and I will definitely be reading book 2!

Nest - "It's not empy nest syndrome" pg 59

Great review Steph Ann. I keep meaning to read this series. I love Newsflesh and I really liked the first in the October Daye series -- but I need to read on in that series.

You definitely should continue on with October Daye when you get a chance! The books just keep getting better!
I can take the W. That's the one I was actually secretly hoping for since it doesn't involve making a trip to the library, lol.

Re October Daye - I own the audio, I need to get on it! Hopefully it will fit a word challenge. ;)
My book for this week for the letter I is Fate's Edge by Ilona Andrews

and it has both words:
Page 20 …prince. “You were born smart but poor. You view me as…
Page 64 …and moved to the counter, keeping them in plain view ..
Page 164 …this one was of a good size, at least as large as a football …

Now all I have to do is find my S book. I moved last weekend, so I know it's in a box. The question is, which box is it in, lol.
Paris, if you have problems finding an N book, I did find one this morning, so I could switch to that if you want S.
