Review: This book was a pleasant surprise. The world-building was beautifully executed. Avry is the magical healer who has been in hiding for the last two years. Members of Avry's society want to capture her and kill her because they believe healers caused the plague. Some great plot twists and a creepy bad guy in this one! Perfect for YA fantasy enthusiasts.

Review : This book was simply amazing and mind blowing. James Dashner just has this great ability to create realistic fictional worlds. His writing may not be the best, but it is good enough for me to be able to imagine basically everything that happened in this book.
The Eye of the Minds made me think, wonder, react, and most importantly, it made me want to finish the book. But it was definitely NOT as good as The Maze Runner. It didn't make me feel like I was IN that world and it wasn't enough to make me think about it for days.
The second book is on my TBR list FOR SURE, and I recommend this book to all Maze Runner and dystopia fans out there!

Review: This book was good, but definitely a bit on the graphic side. The story takes place in London, where everyone over the age of 15 has become a zombie. Higson's writing is filled with gore and violence. It reminds me of The Lord of the Flies. The plot leaves many unanswered questions, but I'm not sure if I will continue the series.

Review: Wren died, and came back 178 minutes later as a Reboot. I just love sci-fi books like this. Lots of action and excitement. A fast-paced debut novel by Amy Tintera (which will hopefully turn in to a series). I'm looking forward to reading more of Tintera's work!

Review : This book is a great fantasy read. It's written in subjective third person, so even if you like first-person more, it still really pulls you into the story. There are lots of twists throughout the entire story that I definitely wasn't expecting. I really loved all of the characters, each with very unique personalities and pretty much all of them turned out to be surprising later on in the story in some way or another

Review : This was fun to read. It had the perfect amount of humour, sadness, and seriousness (is that even a word?...).
I like the characters, especially Matt. He is such a nice guy, I'd like to meet someone like him.
What prevented me from giving it a 5/5 was because it was about religion. It didn't have a whole lot of it, but I usually don't read books that include it.
Overall, this was a nice summery read!

Review: While reading this book, I kept thinking that it seemed more like a movie than a book. It's another fast-paced and pleasant read. Lucy lives with her uncle due to some tragic events in her youth. She meets Aric and her life changes in ways she never imagined. Honestly, I was more excited to find the words "cyborg" and "superhuman" in the story. A decent one for lovers of science fiction.

Review: It was a well written, fast paced story. The vampires were good, with a fresh twist. I've only given it 4 stars because I found myself daydreaming during the fight scenes--they just seemed to drag on too long. I was also disappointed in the ending, I needed another chapter to tie everything up. It felt like it ended too soon.

Review : When I first started this, it didn't really catch my attention. This is the kind of book that has an extremely slow start, but then it speeds up later.
There was a point when I just really wanted to stop reading (~pg.50-100), but I didnt. And I was glad.
The ending was amazing. I didnt' expect it AT ALL.
Now, I just HAVE to read the next book.

Review : This was a decent book. It was an easy summer read, but was WAY too cheesy and clichéd.
And the character names, what was up with them? I know it was Texas and all, but Bubby? BUBBY? Is that a nickname? Because if his parents actually named him that, they were either trying to be creative or something really went wrong...(IMO).
The ending was also unsatisfying. I think it would be better if there was a second book with this ending, but the plot wasn't good enough for another one.

Review: This book really struck a chord within me. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I teach computer technology to teenagers. We have debates in class every year about people being too "wired in" and the increasing lack of social skills evident in society. In the book all kids are required to attend Digital School, and the protagonist has spent her life growing up feeling that this is normal. Enter Justin, the guy who helps her begin to understand how to "unplug" and begin truly living.

Review : Honestly, the first part of this book bored me. And by page 100 I was about to mark it as DNF with 1 or 2 stars. Then I saw all the amazing reviews and ratings of this book here on GR. So, I decided to give it another chance.
I was very glad I did. The second part was extremely interesting, and kept me thinking till the end.
The sequel picks up where this one left off, but in Willem's POV. I will DEFINITELY read the next book. I kept on thinking "Where's Willem? What did he do? What about Allyson?" throughout the entire story, and hopefully, Just One Year will give me all those answers.

Review: This book is a modern day retelling of the Beauty and the Beast. It's a great story to read when you are looking for something quick and entertaining. Review : What did I think? Meh.
I struggled to get through this in the end, but I did finish it, which is why I gave this book 3 stars. Nothing interesting happened throughout the story though. There was a pretty captivating beginning, but after that, everything went downhill.
I've read a few other Sarah Dessen novels and they were better. So I recommend reading some of her other books before picking this one up, as it isn't the greatest.

Review: This book was so much fun to read. Addison is a "Searcher" and has to decide which life path to follow when her parents divorce. Of course, there are hot guys down each path, and some seriously dramatic events in each path also. Poor Addie has to pick between the lesser of two evils. Nicely written debut novel by Kasie West!

Review : I enjoyed this book, but it didn't make me feel anything. It was just a story about a girl who had amnesia and her problems. The situation between Zoey and her mom sort of reminded me of the situation between Echo and her mom in Pushing the Limits, which made me compare the two books. Although the rest of the plot is COMPLETELY different, Pushing the Limits is a better book by far. Overall, I liked this book, but Jennifer Echols has definitely done better.

Review : This book was a lot better than I thought it would be.
Normally, I don't read mystery novels like this. TBH, I didn't even like the Pretty Little Liars books that much, even though I adore the TV series. Although Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game have the same type of mystery story, if that makes any sanse (they both have something to do with a mysterious death where the main characters don't know who the killer(s) are, and their goal is to find them), I enjoyed this book quite a lot.
I recommend this book to people who love the Pretty Little Liars, or just mystery novels in general.

Review: This book starts off slow and I wasn't sure that I was going to like it. Fortunately, after about 150 pages, the plot started to get a bit more interesting. Review: Another book that started out slow for me. I did appreciate the author's descriptive style after about the first 80 pages. If you want to read something along the classic horror theme, this one might be for you. It is filled with gore and graphic details about the experiences of a man who hunts monsters and his apprentice. Every time I read a Printz or Printz Honor book(like this one), the reading experience is always good.

Review: Wow. That was epic! I have so many questions. Why is Itex involved in everything? Why did they not want Max to save the world? What does the School have to do with all of this? And WHICH SIDE IS JEB ON? I love the developing powers of the flock. I still don't know what to think of Anne. Is Jeb really supporting Ari's idea to kidnap Max or is he just playing him? I NEED ANSWERS!

Review: I have found my new guilty pleasure series. Mystery, suspense, teenage angst, and so fun to read. Sutton is the spoiled little rich girl. Review: I didn't really like this book that much. IThere were a ton of parts that seemed unrealistic to me. For example, the Mogodarians conveniently crumbling to dust when they're killed; that seems more paranormal than extra-terrestrial to me. I also found certain parts to be really cliché, like how the Mogodarians are evil-looking and every one of them is filled with hatred whereas the Lorics resemble humans. The biggest thing for me was that I didn't really get that attached to the characters. I didn't really care what happened to them, and that made the book a little more boring than it should have been.

Review: I really wanted to love this book. The beginning has that tragic, but beautiful, feeling. After that, the extensive backstory seemed to drag out for me. I understand that the reader needs to know Autumn and Finny's history, but a more condensed version would have made me happier. The long backstory combined with the abrupt ending just felt odd.

Review: A fast-paced read that is a good choice for YA mystery fans. Kayla works at Pete's Pizza, and disappears while making a delivery. This book grabs the reader's attention and holds it until the last page.

Review : This was pretty good and I really liked the ending.
The thing with this book is that Nora forgot everything that happened, and that was all the events in Hush, Hush and Crescendo.
In a way that was good, because I read the first two books a good three years ago, but it was also annoying and frustrating. Basically, I could have just started this book without reading the first two. Sure, I would have missed some parts, but they explain all the important bits again.

Review : I have to say, this was a pretty decent conclusion to the series. Sure, some parts were overly cheesy and made me want to facepalm, but it was good. I especially like the gift the archangels gave Nora and Patch in the end.

Review: Action-packed and thrilling, this book starts out with a girl waking up in a glass cubicle. She has no idea how she got there, nor why she has a scar across her chest. Noa and Peter are teens from two different worlds, but both are computer hackers. Noa reminds me of Lisbeth Salander from the Millennium books. The first book in the Persefone series is an enjoyable read for fans of adventure.

Review: The premise of this book sounded good-Sydney is called in to protect Jill (from the Vampire Academy books). I really like the whole alchemist part of the story. Sydney's knowledge of chemistry was a nice change to the traditional magic/superhuman powers usually found in these type of YA books. The middle of the book did seem to drag along in places. Adrian and Eddie helped to keep things from getting too boring. This one is not as exciting as the Vampire Academy series, but is worth reading if you like Richelle Mead.

Review: This book was about the younger sister, Abby, who feels as if she is constantly living in her sister's shadow. The problem is that the older sister, Tess, is in a coma, and Abby is losing her identity completely as she obsesses over how to bring Tess back. I found Abby's character to be somewhat insecure, and that was irritating to me. The love interest, Eli, is a good guy, who is dealing with his own struggles. I did like this book-it's a quick read.

Review: During the first several chapters of this book, I wasn't sure what to think. Layken's character was "mature" one moment, and then an obnoxious drama queen the next. The book did get better once I read further. The explanation of slam poetry and the beautiful poems added to the story line. This is a strong debut novel.

Definitely one for more mature YA readers.

Review: I had never heard of this book until a friend mentioned that it is now a movie. Since it is a Printz winner, I decided to check it out. It took a little while to get into the book; the writing style is that of a teenage girl recording journal entries. This book has a feel of historical fiction, but is told in a modern setting. Daisy experiences a new culture, war conditions, and falling in love with her cousin. I think the story is simple, but powerful.

Review: I’ll admit to reading this book just to check off another name from the list. However, it was fun to read about Erin and Hunter’s adventures in creative writing. I liked how they wrote stories to share emotions and feelings with each other. Also, the fact that they shared a love of horses was another part I enjoyed. The book is short, and the end seemed rather abrupt. I would have loved a little more detail to the ending.
