Language to be used in the "title" field

Should the title of the book be given only in the language of the book ? Or both english and the language of the book?
For eg: the above book is written in Malayalam. Its title is given in bot Malayalam and English seperated by a '|' . Is this necessary? Or is there any other mode of writing this?

The usual format is to have the transliteration in square brackets:
വായിച്ചാലും വായിച്ചാലും തീരാത്ത പുസ്തകം [Vaayichaalum Vaayichaalum Theeratha Pusthakam]

or to leave it out, since the transliteration is optional:
വായിച്ചാലും വായിച്ചാലും തീരാത്ത പുസ്തകം

What about the name of the author?? Should I give it in English or in both languages, just like the book title?

If the author has been published in English (or another roman-alphabet language) then the author should be listed twice, first in English and then, as a separate author listing, in Malayalam. If the author has only ever been published in Malayalam, then only the Malayalam version of the author's name is needed. (In either case, the name of the author should never be repeated in the same author slot.)
