Someone else told you how they do it. I do it a different way. When I go to 'review copies'. I then click on "downloads". It shows the books you have downloaded. It lists all your books. And beside each book it says "write review". You just click on that and type in/copy your review.

message 2415: by Tati (new)

Tati Can you set the thread, please?

message 2417: by Inky (new)

Inky I made an account on NetGalley but it's a little bit confusing. I also created a blog so I can start writing reviews on what I read. I've always wanted to do that but there was always an excuse why I couldn't. No more excuses! =)

message 2418: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments That's kind of how I was too, Barbara. Now I'm somewhat addicted to reviewing. :) Netgalley can be pretty confusing at first. I think I've kind of got the hang of it now. I just wish the publishers/authors would look at the feedback and links I leave instead of emailing me for my feedback. Oh well. I still get free books to read and review. And some of them are really good!

message 2419: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) I agree with Courtney, I will not mark a book as read unless I have a review to go with it. Except I barely have time to write them. NetGalley just takes a bit to get a hang of, but soon you'll be reading, reviewing and loving it.

@Courtney, I also wish we got to hear something after we send the review.

message 2420: by Tati (new)

Tati Sometimes, I hear back from them. It's usually an e-mail thanking me for the review and asking if the review was cross-posted to Amazon.

message 2421: by Inky (new)

Inky Do you guys write reviews on personal blogs?

message 2422: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) | 4856 comments I do

message 2423: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Yes, I write my review on my blog and then post to Amazon. Also here on goodreads, sometimes a shorter review with a link to my blog post.

@Dory I occasionally hear from them. Some of them thank me for the review. What really bothers me is when I've left them feedback with links and they email to ask if I've reviewed the book. I guess they don't check netgalley.

onceuponatimeareview | 2335 comments I'm so happy that I'm getting approve for the bigger publishers. Starting with Random House and St. Martin Press. Hoping the others on Netgalley will start approving me to as soon as I get some reading done.

Same here. Since I've boosted my review percentage a lot, I'm getting accepted to review almost all books I've requested, and the only problem is, i didn't think they would all accept -leaving me with too much to read on my ereader

Lol same here

message 2427: by Tati (new)

Tati It seems NetGalley created a new badge, for those auto-approved by more than 4 publishers

Yep, I got that email too. Seems a bit braggy though, like 'I've got loads of auto approvals and you don't!' sort of thing.

message 2429: by Melek (new)

Well done!!

message 2432: by Tati (new)

Tati Wow! Congrats!

Is it me being too picky or there haven't been that many good books on NetGalley lately?

message 2433: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I thought the same thing. I'm kind-of grateful though as I've got my netgalley shelf down to 28!

message 2434: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I agree, the books haven't been that tempting lately. But I only have 16 books on my shelf, so I'm not complaining. Maybe I'll have a chance to catch up before they throw in a bunch that I really want!

message 2435: by Tati (new)

Tati I have 19 right now, and that is 10 too many

message 2436: by Heather (new)

Heather | 10157 comments I have nothing on my netgalley shelf!!

message 2437: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I will be reading at least six of those in July (and I'm currently reading a couple) so my shelf should clear out fairly soon. Some of them aren't being released until November or December, so I'm not in a big hurry for those.

message 2438: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I've been working on getting the number down, I was up at well over 40 a few weeks ago. I really need to get through a few more!

message 2439: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Yikes, 40. What you have now is definitely an improvement.

message 2440: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
Every time it went over to a 3rd page (cause the shelf on netgalley is 20 books per page), I kept thinking OMG.

message 2441: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I start to freak out when I have too many books sitting and waiting to be read. I know I shouldn't, but I can't help it. That's why I'm trying to slow down on requesting. And warning people who ask me that it might be a while before I get to their books.

message 2442: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I've had to start declining, even though I hate saying no, I've just got way too much of a backlog at the moment. I need to read about 200 books really.

message 2443: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Wow. 200 books! At least you read really quickly. I guess it's just wanting to read the books you "need" to read that would become the problem there. But 200, that's insane. I would just give up then. Haha.

message 2444: by Elizabeth Emily (new)

Elizabeth Emily Browne (snakesandladderrs) | 2186 comments I haven't seen any on Netgalley for about a month now that I'm interested in but I've got my shelf down to one which I am reading now. Hopefully some good books come out soon!

message 2445: by Sarah Elizabeth (new)

Sarah Elizabeth (bookworm_sarah) | 90956 comments Mod
I've got 120 that I've got to read, and then another 80 that are 'read when you can' sort of things. It's daunting!

message 2446: by Melek (new)

Melek (chaissar) That sounds really scary. :/

message 2447: by rachel, x (new)

rachel, x (typedtruths) | 8401 comments @Melek Congrats! That's amazing.

@Sarah Good luck getting that down. I'm sure you'll be able to. :)

message 2448: by Dory (new)

Dory (fishthatreads) I have about 35 or less books on my shelf now (NetGalley won't load), with about a 70% review ratio. About a third of the books on my shelf are archived, which annoys me since I read using android, and those copies expire. Leaving me searching EVERYWHERE so I can get the book read and reviewed before its too late. While I commonly ask the author kindly, and they often send me an ebook so I can finish reading, many big publishers don't do that. Do any of you suffer from this problem?

@Sarah I don't know how I would handle that, but since I've seen your review on practically every book I've read, I believe you can do that.

@Melek Congratulations!

@Elizabeth Emily I'm thankful there isn't anything interesting on netgalley, keeps me away from adding to the pile. There isn't much new releases during the summer, just wait till the school year begins and your shelf will be swamped.

Thats a long post.

message 2449: by Inky (new)

Inky I'm slowly starting to figure NetGalley out I've downloaded two of their "Read Now" books and requested a couple but already got decline for one which I'm not surprised at all. I don't have any reviews up on my blog right now. I'm off from school until next Monday so I'm hoping to get some books read and reviewed during this break.

message 2450: by Inky (new)

Inky Speaking of blogs, can I ask you lovely people a favor? I've been messing around with the background and layout. Can you give me some feedback on how it looks? I just want to make sure it looks okay to actual viewers. This is my first time blogging so I'm still trying to figure out how everything works.

Admin, if this isn't allowed definitely delete this post please! I don't want to be breaking any rules at all.

Thank you!!!
