I don't either. but the really high fantasy books all come with them. it's like a little flag at the front of the book 'You're not going to understand me Sarah!'

Granted, you can compare them to real maps, but the names are very different
Oh dear me, I wouldn't have a clue. I have a big black hole in my brain when it comes to both history and geography, I don't get it at all.

I'm awful at giving directions when someone else is driving, I know what I mean, but because I get my left and right mixed up, I'm useless. It usually disolves into 'go that way!', 'no! that way!'

Yeah, mine says I've only been approved of 14 and I know its more...

Thanks Tati! It looks getter now since I got more approved than declined :D
If you look at approvals under activity, it only shows you books that haven't been archived. You have to add together approved and archived, and it should add up to the number on your profile ☺

I do that too. Got to read the whole study series. I think Margarita had it worst though, she got approved for one last year that was like 11th in a series!

Woah, 11 books would take so long! I just do it all the time. I got

Oh I remember that one! :)

As for the Royal Wedding/Meg Cabot book. This is the first adult book in the series (and they are marketing it as such). So I'm guessing it will be quite different from the rest of the series. I'm reading it without having read the previous books.
I try to read the first book before requesting, but sometimes I just don't get chance. I'm reading
at the moment which is pretty pants.

ha ha! This conversation just reminded me, I got a review request for this a few weeks ago -
, 40th in the series. I did not accept it!

We could be twins lol, i do that all the time too and then regret it. even if its a good book its so much pressure to catch up on a series, especially a long one.but i believe in you! speed read for the win :)

I was seriously glad I didn't request
before reading
, because I really wouldn't have wanted to read that one!

I bet that each book features a separate case. I bet you could probably read this book without having read the others.

I quite like this series, actually. But I don't have any idea that it's already book 40! I read it up to book 12 2 years ago, I think. And then I got bored. It can be read as a standalone but the main characters, Eve and Roarke's life continues in each book.

@Sarah There is no way I would accept a 40th book! How long would that take to catch up? How could anyone want to read that many books about one couple!?
@Dana Aha! I think I need that luck! There is a bit of pressure to read the rest of the series asap but I have a lot of other books to read too so I hope they won't mind the late review. I did write in my request that I was only up to the 5th book.

Same here.
Do you guys have any suggestions when it's not too early to "request" for something?
I mean I don't really want to request for a book yet until I have finished 10 read now books.

Yup! The 11th book in that series. I ended liking some of them so I guess it's all good. :)

I don't think Abbie requested it. I'm up for a buddy read if you want to read it together though ☺

I'd say, if you're requesting from a small publisher, or an indie author, then read a few 'read now' books (4 or 5 maybe?) and then request. If you're requesting from a large publisher like penguin or random house or something like that, then I'd wait a bit longer. They tend to be much harder to get approvals from, and it gets a bit depressing if you get loads of rejections ☹

I think this one might be - https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/sho... this is the UK and ANZ version so that should be australia right?
No, signing up for an account is free, and requesting is free too. It's usually best to read and review a couple of 'read now' titles first (titles you don't need to be approved for you can just download them), to show publishers that you're serious about reading and reviewing and will hold up your side of the deal ☺
If you go to the books pages, once you've clicked on 'read now' it should come up with two buttons 'send to kindle' and 'download'. click download to download to your ipad/computer, or you'll need a kindle email to send it to yur kindle ☺
It should look something like this -

Have you verified your email address? You might have to go to your email account, and look for a welcome email from netgalley ☺
