Apparently they did 500 'read now' copies, and then took it down. I think they went pretty quick unfortunately.

It was actually the first time i got one of those emails on time!

Yes. I do that. I thought this challenge would help me get my r2r list down, but I've gained so many books in the last 2 weeks that it's monstrous!
Yep! It's even worse when you get a pre-approval. It's like OMG, I just got 10 books. Pre-approvals are like cocaine for readers though, it's like christmas come early ☺

I'm pretty sure you can! However, you eventually won't be able to. Sometime (I don't know how long) after the book is archived, the book is taken down.

The reason I was wondering about all this is because I have a book that is going to be archived soon but I don't know if I will be able to read it in time.

How do you get auto-approvals? :)

Yes you can. Go to the little drop.down menu where you have the option to see your profile, and instead choose 'activity', this should bring up a list of titles.you've been approved for. On the right is another drop down menu, use this to select 'archived', find the title you want and click it, and you'll go to the books page where you can give feedback ☺

Publishers give out auto approvals to people who they are happy with - so if you live in the right country, always do your reviews on time, have a good following etc. There's no way to know when you'll get an auto approval or who from, you just have to keep your percentage up and keep submitting your reviews and eventually you'll get one ☺

Okay, thanks Sarah! Have you got some auto-approvals? :)
I've got a few ☺ My favourite is HarperTeen on Edelweiss. Every time they upload new books my r2r pile spikes!

That would be so great!! :)
I was really shocked to get it. They gave them out to loads of bloggers last september time. I was so jealous! then they gave it to me! I think I must have been one of the last to get it. It was so exciting though!

I can imagine! I would be so happy if that happened to me. I try and stay on top of my review pile but they keep approving more and more books and I am getting behind! :(
I keep getting approved for more too. It gets worse when you get review copies of books that are third in a series and you've haven't read the first two though. you end up having to add three books to your r2r pile, so get a few of those, and it really adds up!

Wow, that would be hard to keep up with! I make sure that I don't request sequels because of that very reason but I can see the appeal of it! :)

When a publisher 'auto-approves' you on netgalley or edelweiss. It means that when you click 'request' for that publishers books, you are automatically approved and can download the book without having to wait for them to approve you ☺

Oh wow, that's a good haul!! I want to read (and wanted to request) most of them but I refrained myself because I hadn't ready any of the previous books. :(
I was auto-approved for some of them, and I had the first books in the series so I thought I might as well read them. I did read some of the first books before requesting or downloading the second ones though. I really disliked
so I was super glad I hadn't downloaded the second one.

Yeah I tried to read Arclight, but I got really bored and confused. Didn't explain anything, and it was just about her love life. :/
It's a publisher. so if you get auto-approved for say harlequin teen, all their books will be auto approved if you request them.

I hated arclight. it felt about a million pages long, and you're right - nothing was explained.

If you've been approved for the book you can pretty much submit feedback forever. I've still got one on there that I didn't download from 2012 that I could review if I ever get around to reading it!

Your request to view The Inventor's Secret from Penguin Young Readers Group. Thank you for your interest in this title! Unfortunately we have hit our e-galley limit for this title.
Why am I not surprised?

I have

all of which don't have kindle options ☹
I have

I refused to read
because it didn't have a kindle option, so then got a copy myself once it was released and figured I'd still do the review. Shouldn't have bothered because the book was pants!
