You may be able to read Beloved Enemy without reading the rest of the series, actually. Each book in the series is on a different couple, so they're a bit like companion novels. I'll be reading both novellas (Rival is the other) this month, so if anyone wants to give one of them a shot, let me know!

Unholy Alliance is a really good book, by the way! If you're going to read any book in the series, read that one.

Got turned down every time by HarperCollins on Edelweiss too. You're not alone! :D I'm 38% right now on NetGalley. Got approved for a bunch of books and been holding them up for the challenge.

Harpercollins depresses me because all 6 of my rejections on edelweiss are from them. :(

Me too! My ratio on NetGalley is 25.9%, so far from 80%. :( I think I have 30+ ARCs to read. And then those ARCs turned out to be sequels of books I haven't read yet so my tbr-list just grow longer :/

That's the problem I always have - getting sequels and having to read the previous books too. I've stopped requesting them until I've read the first book though, got caught out by , which I didn't like, but had an ARC of the third. Really glad I read before requesting the sequel as well because it was rubbish!

Has anyone ever been approved for a book that was already archived? This just happened to me, pretty upsetting, because I really wanted to read that book and I got that email and then I was like YAY only to log in and find out that it's archived.

Yes. I think there's a glitch in the system that if you have a request pending, and the book is archived, it automatically approves you. It's happened to me several times, and there's nothing you can do about it. It's really annoying!

Simon & Schuster just declined me for all the books I requested from them on edelweiss. really wanted ☹
