Tell me I'm not the only one who hates Daniel with passion

No, you're not the only one...
I couldn't for the life of me, understand, why everybody loved him...

That, and why he loved her. The whole thing was just 'hey we love each other for no apparent reason, but our love is so tragic and blah, blah, blah'

This. I mean, how hard can it be just not kissing someone?

Ugh, agree with you. I rated it a three because of the writer's ability to write. But the characters were flat, the plot was underwhelming and the love story was completely non-existant.
Luce is equivalent to Bella Swan. Actually I prefer Bella.
I.... Actually loved Daniel....
Yeah..... His devotion was touching. Side trips, like Shelby, were honestly expected. But the lengths he went to for Luce were enchanting. Love so strong is rare even in books. Was he a little idiotic about it sometimes? Definitely. But I think he made up for it.
That's not saying this was one of my favorite series, though I did like it (until the last book), but Daniel was one character I really liked.

It's not actually him, it's Satan's curse. You should remember that it wasn't always a kiss. It was the love she would feel, or when she started getting too close to the truth. The kiss was a common thing, but it wasn't the only thing. It also wasn't the kiss itself, it was the feelings it awakened. It also wasn't always Daniel kissing Luce. She would kiss him too.
It was the one thing he had never tried before -being a jerk to try and drive her off. In Passion, you see he was always the perfect gentlemen. She always fell in love with his smiles, his charm, his kindness, immediately. But someone she didn't know (or, didn't think she knew) just randomly flicking her off? It's a turn off. And he was hoping it might be what would finally break the curse. Or keep her away from him at the very least.

Anyway, do we ever get an explanation as to why they love each other? The author repeats over and over again that they love each other, even in the beginning, but the whole thing just seems so instant.
Have you read the fourth book yet?

No. The first three were horrible enough for me.

Lol. Well, that's where it's all explained. I LIKED the first three books, and even I wasn't a fan of the fourth one. So if YOU didn't like the first three at all, I strongly recommend that you don't read the fourth one.
