Laura | 28 comments I've set a goal of 50 books. So far I'm right on track. Wish me luck! :D

#1 Gone Girl This was definitely a page turner!

#2 Sharp Objects Since I liked Gone Girl so much I decided to try another by this author. Wasn't as good as Gone Girl but held my interest. Dark subject matter!

#3 Defending Jacob Rather unexpected ending!

#4 The Age of Miracles This book was intriguing from the get go. Different kind of read for me.

#5 The Light Between Oceans Such a good book. If you haven't read, you really should!

#6 Redeeming Love This was recommended by a friend. It was mediocre.

#7 The Shack: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity Also recommended by a friend. Better than #6 but just average for me.

#8 Escape from Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West An incredible story!

#9 Beautiful Ruins This book seemed to get quite a bit of hype but didn't quite live up to it in my humble opinion.

#10 The Witness Another page turner but the ending was a bit anti-climactic.

#11 Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking Good stuff! Wish I'd had this book in my repertoire as a young adult.

#12 The Promise of Stardust Heartbreaking story that really made me re-evaluate some of my beliefs.

#13 Some Kind Of Fairy Tale Pretty good. Synopsis makes the story sound really silly but it's very serious!

#14 Jane's Melody Just started...This one has really good reviews. Didn't take long to finish this one. Loved it! So delicious.

#15 Man Up!: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence Man Up! Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence by Ross Mathews Love this guy. Hilarious book so far. Thoroughly enjoyed.

#16 Wave Wave by Sonali Deraniyagala About the 2004 Indonesian Tsunami. Heartbreaking! I went from being totally entertained by #15 to the depths of despair with this one. Very well written though. I can feel her pain almost as if I'm going through it with her.

#17 The Spark: Raising a Genius The Spark Raising a Genius by Kristine Barnett This book blew me away! A remarkable boy who is part of an even more remarkable family!

#18 The Silver Star The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls This was a bit disappointing I'm sorry to say.

#19 The Husband's Secret The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty What a good read! Loved it.

#20 The Book Thief The Book Thief by Markus Zusak Not quite sure what all the buzz was about regarding this book.

#21 Runaway Groom Runaway Groom by Sally Clements Ready for something kinda light!

#22 Exposed: The Secret Life of Jodi Arias Exposed The Secret Life of Jodi Arias by Jane Velez-Mitchell Kind of morbid but I like reading about the lives and behaviors of murderers. Probably because the act is beyond my comprehension.

#23 Me Before You Me Before You by Jojo Moyes Reviews indicate this is going to be a good one! And boy was it!

#24 Shake Down the Stars Shake Down the Stars by Renee Swindle Another goodreads giveaway book for me.

#25 Where'd You Go, Bernadette Where'd You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple This book was quirky and oddly entertaining!

#26 One Pink Line One Pink Line by Dina Silver Touching story about a girl who discovers she's not who she thinks she is.

#27 The Rosie Project The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion Autistic man sets out to find a wife and ends up with on that he never imagined he would. Very humorous at times.

#28 Seduction and Snacks Seduction and Snacks (Chocolate Lovers, #1) by Tara Sivec A guilty pleasure I allowed myself.

#29 The Fault in Our Stars The Fault in Our Stars by John Green I didn't think I would enjoy this because of the subject matter (cancer) but I very much did! A very poignant story.

#30 And the Mountains Echoed And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini Didn't like this one as well as his others but a worthy read nevertheless.

#31The End of Your Life Book Club The End of Your Life Book Club by Will Schwalbe Another heartbreaking cancer story. I loved that mother and son shared a love of books!

#32 Necessary Lies Necessary Lies by Diane Chamberlain Falling way short of my 50 but I'm plugging along nevertheless!

#33 The Golem and the Jinni The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker This book reminds me of some of the books I read as a child. It's an adult book, of course, but it's magical!
