AM Homes This Book Will Change Your Life is on the UK Daily Deal today. Has anyone read it, is it worth a read? Am trying not to buy any more at the moment until I've read my existing collection, but am feeling a bit flamboyant today!

message 302: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) It's quirky, eccentric, funny in places. Worth 99p definitely. I read it a few years ago. Read May We Be Forgiven earlier this year, and like that one better.

Debbie (debbiegregory) | 585 comments Google Play have the hummingbird bakery's Mother and Fathers Day Treats by Tareq Malouf for 99p

Yes, quite a long time ago, remember enjoying it and that it was quite unusual, but not much more. I am hoping to read May We Be Forgiven sometime this year.

I read about the Galaxy offer but my Tesco doesn't have the special bars so need to try another shop...

Mel | 43 comments A book called Afterwards by Rosamund Lupton it's sounds excellent and has good reviews - it's on sale daily deals kindle store 99p

Jo Weston (joster) | 1697 comments Mod
Mel, I was just coming on to post about that one! It is good, worth a read, especially at 99p.

message 327: by Mel (new)

Mel | 43 comments I haven't read it - I read the description and some of the reviews and though why not.

message 328: by Mel (new)

Mel | 43 comments I have just finished reading Wrongful Death: the aids trial by Stephen Davis. This is a free book on the kindle and an absolutely fantastic read. It definitely opens your eyes to HIV and Aids. It's written as if you are a member of the jury; lots if information is given and in the end you are left wondering of the truth. The book is a fiction book however it's loaded with true facts. I was constantly researching as I read. Down load it and give this book a try - its free after all - you've nothing to lose!

Debbie (debbiegregory) | 585 comments The end of Mr Y by Scarlett Thomas is very good. Kindle daily deal.
The Returned by Jason Mott is Google Playstore book of the week. The French tv series was based on it last year. Supposed to be great.
Both 99p.

Was just coming on to say about The End of Mr Y! It was very enjoyable and unusual although I'm not sure I fully understood it.
Thanks for the heads up on The Returned. I'll take a look, although I don't know how to get that on to my Kindle yet. Any tips?

message 332: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (debbiegregory) | 585 comments I'm not sure how to get it on a kindle as I don't have one. I use the Kindle app on my LG tablet. I have the Google Play store on my smartphone and tablet. It's fantastic as I can read wherever I am. The app recognises the different devices and moves you to where you left off. As much as books will always have first place in my heart, this is a close second, if only for the shelf space saved and the convenience.
However because of the ease of buying, I'm kind of overdoing it and really need to reign it in. I dare not count the amount (and more importantly cost of) ebooks I've bought since I got my new tablet in January. I have a feeling it's over 100. Oops!

message 333: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
Ah, they are not compatible with Kindles, apparently. Typical of Amazon's stranglehold on the technology: they are as bad as Apple! Never mind, can read on my phone and may get a new tablet soon.

message 334: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
PS Debbie: have been as bad as you with eBook buying! It's too easy.

message 335: by Debbie (new)

Debbie (debbiegregory) | 585 comments Ha...glad I'm not only one! I suppose you have to sell it to the other half as intellectually stimulating and harmless to others. It could be worse, my purchases probably equate to 50 Grazias, as much as I love a trashy mag now and then, there's only so much best-dressed vs worst-dressed and celeb hitched or ditched I can take. It just scares and confuses me!

Apologies, James, author promotion is not permitted in this group, as stated in the terms and conditions. Could you please remove your post, or a moderator will do so by the end of today. Thanks.

I think the Kobo app will read a greater variety of ebooks:

I bought London: The Autobiography on Kindle Daily Deal 99p today. Of course, may be of limited interest to non-dwellers but I've heard good things about it.

4am Debbie! You must be tired today. I'm never awake that time anymore unless it is child-related.

Debbie (debbiegregory) | 585 comments The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon is £2.29 on Sainsburys ebooks app. Can't recommend it enough. It is the first in a planned series of 7 books. The second is due to be published at the end of the year.
