There hasn't been many really good books on this recently

message 203: by Linda (new)

Linda Kelly I know Paul, shame isn't it? That' why I appreciate when people post the good ones so I don't miss out.

message 204: by Susan (new)

Susan (suze0501) | 190 comments I'm thinking the e-reader book bargains might pick up after Christmas, when the annual book buying binge is over?

I hope so. I think last year there was a big sale over the twelve days of Christmas.

Loads of bargains on here today:

message 207: by Linda (new)

Linda Kelly Can highly recommend The Mangle Street Murders for 99p. Cracking read.

message 208: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Rosie-Pro...

The Rosie Project is currently reduced from £12 to £3.99 on kindle. Not super-cheap but well worth the money if you want a good read with lots of laugh out loud moments.

There are lots of deals just released, too many to list, but they do include Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea which is one of the best things I have ever read.

Also a couple of Mark Forsyth books which I have had on watch for a while.

The new Bridget Jones is going cheap as is Cuckoo's Calling, penned by JK Rowling, Inferno by Dan Brown... The list goes on.

Hmm. I saw that Gaiman fest too! I have The Graveyard Book already, might treat myself to one more, but which one? Neverwhere gets the highest score on GR, but only just.....

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
All of them?

Jo Weston (joster) | 1697 comments Mod
Isn't Neverwhere on TV over Christmas or did I dream it?

I can't justify them all, unfortunately, as tempting as it is.

Lisa, which one didn't you get just out of interest?

message 229: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
I skipped the short stories one as I got The Graveyard Book too a couple of weeks ago :D

I would go for Neverwhere if you were just getting one, Jo. Seems to be the one of his most talked about.

BTW I can't justify it either! I am very well stocked on the Kindle considering the paltry amount of reading time I have.

Oh, and Neverwhere is on Radio 4 over Christmas at around 11pm for a few nights. Not sure what that slot is as I don't, alas, manage to listen to radio, given my rubbish ears.

It's a good one, if you haven't already read it.

I read it earlier last year and liked it a lot. Have got Bring Up the Bodies to read this year.

Absolute bargain at 99p. Thoroughly recommended.
