Elizabeth (merelyreading) For anyone else who is collecting the Philippa Gregory Cousins War Series, The Kingmaker's Daughter and The Lady of the Rivers are 99p today (price matched by Amazon from the Sainsbury's ebook sale).

You may need to be quick, it might just be a one day price drop. I've just grabbed them :)

Also, for anyone who is interested in the C J Sansom Shardlake series, they are also all 99p today.

Tempting, but I think my husband might cut my credit card up if I buy those too :D

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Not sure which thread it was, but someone recommended Susan Hill'sThe Small Hand as another good ghost story by her. Today it is 99p on Kindle.

Gill I'm so pleased that Amazon is doing the price matching. I've only bought a couple, well so far that is!

Wow that's a good selection Jo. And I'm kicking myself now as I bought quite a few of them when they were much more than 99p (!)

I've picked up Flight Behaviour and A Cupboard Full of Coats and am seriously pondering some Peter Carey

message 110: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) I'm going to have to take a look on Amazon aren't I?

I listened to the audio version of A Cupboard Full of Coats earlier this year and thought it incredibly good. Very moving. Hope you like it too.

message 114: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) I bought The Hours, which I've been wanting to read for ages. Very pleased, because I missed it the last time it was reduced.

Would recommend Pure which is an eerie pre-French revolution, beautifully written read.

Finger hovering over a Cupboard Full of Coats and Paul's one - have seriously gone over book-budget this month.

In fact, loads of new ones, but that one stood out.

I can't resist!

I seem to remember you talking about them before, I have them both on watch, and this one has price dropped, just waiting for the other one in due course.

message 121: by Agata (new)

Agata Wightman Thanks, Jo, just bought it! The other one was a daily deal some weeks ago.

You'll have to now Jo!

message 123: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) Looking on the Amazon kindle books page, there's a sale which started today, The Autumn Harvest Sale. Lots of books there but, fortunately for me, nothing appeals this time.

message 124: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) "Labyrinth" by Kate Mosse has just gone to 99p on Kindle

message 125: by Chatterjak (new)

Chatterjak You've just cost me 99p Jean! Or rather, saved me a couple of quid! Thank you!

message 126: by Chatterjak (new)

Chatterjak ... Although I think I do have a paper copy of it already somewhere, but I've had them in storage so long I'm not sure anymore! Kindle it is then!

message 127: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) LOL - you are welcome, Chatterjack.

I have been trying to make out what your profile picture is. Cat? Rabbit? Dog? Monkey? Pair of gloves?

message 128: by Chatterjak (new)

Chatterjak Haha! It's one of my dogs, Suki, she's a beauty but it's really hard to get a good pic cos she's so black you can't make out her features very well! Also, I'm a terrible photographer & the camera on the iPad is abysmal!

message 129: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Aaaah I see!

Nope, actually still can't see her. Never mind she looks very soft and silky. Give her a cuddle from me ;)

I have a beautiful (and very silly) brown labrador (my profile pic). They are very hard to photograph, I"m with you there. We took at least 30 photos to get this one good one.

message 131: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) My dog's the opposite - a white long-haired border collie. He has a tricolour (ie plus black and brown) mask, which makes him look very odd against the snow. Just a dog's head!

Elizabeth (merelyreading) I read that last week. Hope you both enjoy it.

message 136: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) The Last Runaway by Tracy Chevalier is 99p today on Sainsbury's ebooks. If you have any kind of ereader other than a kindle then you can download. Kindles not compatible. Amazon has probably price checked it today though, not had a look yet.

message 137: by Jo (new)

Jo Weston (joster) | 1697 comments Mod
Great tip Elizabeth. I already had the Last Runaway but because of the price matching of today's offers by Amazon, I got The Universe Versus Alex Woods for 99p for Kindle too, which I have been waiting ages for.

Jen, does Calibre work for library eBooks? I imagine not as they are presumably copy-protected?

message 142: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth (merelyreading) The Secret History by Donna Tartt is 99p today - amongst this weekend's offering from Sainsbury's ebooks. Bound to be price-matched by Amazon. Also listed are two of Jennifer Worth's Call The Midwife books, and Miranda Hart's autobiography Is It Just Me?.

Lots to choose from on today's Kindle Daily Deals.

Also, a new concept of "Countdown Deals" has been introduced in the kindle book store. Certain books are discounted for a defined short period - they have an indicator of how much longer the book is available at the cheaper price. Hope the link works.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/b/ref=amb_lin...

message 146: by Bionic Jean (new)

Bionic Jean (bionicjean) Thanks so much for this link, Jo. I had learnt about this from Chris (Naylor, author, husband) from the author's side, but when he told me about it it was only on Amazon.com and not Amazon.co.uk, so I'm glad they've extended it.

I especially like the countdown clock, which tells you to the second how much longer you've got! I've sometimes been caught out by the Daily Deals by not knowing exactly when they'll stop.

And yes, your link works fine :)

message 147: by Chatterjak (new)

Chatterjak Oh dear, off to spend more money! ;)

Why is it when I search on my kindle none of these come up in daily deal? Yet if I search for a specific book, it will be at the offer price?

message 148: by Agata (new)

Agata Wightman Stephens King's "The Green Mile" is 99p in kindle store.

Yes, a few Kings are cheap, I got 'It' and Salem's Lot. For sometime. 'It' scared me senseless as a teen.
