You are officially banned from looking at books for 60 days, for poor jokemanship

Just popping on (hello!) to say that the three Philip Pullman His Dark Materials books are 99p on Amazon Kindle today. And they are excellent.

So excited about the forthcoming new installment, as well as the TV series (if it ever actually happens), which should be much better than the mediocre film!

There is Joy : La Belle Sauvage

Uprooted by Naomi Novik is 99p today. Really enjoyed this as it is a different sort of fantasy

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Silent Fear is currently free on Amazon. This was the last book I read, very entertaining if you like a good whodunit.

Thank you Cathy. Someone mentioned in a FB group I am in, and I had meant to come on and say, and got waylaid with other stuff

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) I'm always getting waylaid with other stuff too, Paul. I miss quite a lot but then I'm not sure I could cram anything more in to my life anyway!

The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook is 99p today for all you bakers out there. I already have a hardback copy and can verify that the spiced pound cake is excellent!

Also at 99p today is Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams, which I would have thought would be a short book. Page 1. We sleep because we get tired. Page 2. The end.

I only mention this one because this is supposed to be a bestseller.

I think I would need some proof of how good this cake is.

Ooh thanks Catherine. It's still 99p today. I don't normally buy cookery books on Kindle but I'm making an exception for this one because we all need more cake to get us through February...

I can concur that the Hummingbird Book is fab, we also have it! I've not quite mastered how one uses a recipe book when it is an e-book - I did buy one last week for the first time (The Roasting Tin: Simple One Dish Dinners) so am going to try and find out soon!

At 99p on Amazon today is The Plague and which is one of my 5 star reads

Also at 99p is SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome

message 639: by Catherine (new)

Catherine | 492 comments Mod
Although double checking the SPQR doesn't appear at 99p on Amazon but at £3.29, which although I am sure is a bargain considering all the hours Mary Beard must have poured into the book along with her knowledge, is still not the 99p that was advertised to me.

Home Fires by Kamila Shamsie is 99p today. There have been quite a few good books in the daily deal lately, which hasn't helped my reading list shrink.

message 649: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments One of my favourite poets is giving away all of his kindle books for free until 1st July. Harry Whitewolf he has a very unique style of writing, I highly recommend reading them. Also in the giveaway are his 2 travel books.

Link here.

He also writes childrens books under the pseudonym of Mr. Wolf which are great fun and also free.
