You are officially banned from looking at books for 60 days, for poor jokemanship

Haven't read that one yet.

Just popping on (hello!) to say that the three Philip Pullman His Dark Materials books are 99p on Amazon Kindle today. And they are excellent.
So excited about the forthcoming new installment, as well as the TV series (if it ever actually happens), which should be much better than the mediocre film!

Oh good - I hadn't heard that there was going to be a new Dark Materials book.
There is Joy : La Belle Sauvage
Uprooted by Naomi Novik is 99p today. Really enjoyed this as it is a different sort of fantasy

Thank you Cathy. Someone mentioned in a FB group I am in, and I had meant to come on and say, and got waylaid with other stuff

The Hummingbird Bakery Cookbook is 99p today for all you bakers out there. I already have a hardback copy and can verify that the spiced pound cake is excellent!

Yup thanks Cathy, I forgot to post that one, didn't forget to purchase it though!

Also at 99p today is Why We Sleep: Unlocking the Power of Sleep and Dreams, which I would have thought would be a short book. Page 1. We sleep because we get tired. Page 2. The end.
I only mention this one because this is supposed to be a bestseller.

I think I would need some proof of how good this cake is.

I reserved a copy from the library. If it is no good it can go back!

I am making one this week as it happens. I'll send you a picture of me enjoying eating it!

That reminds me of a friend who always posts pictures of empty plates saying how delicious it was...

Ooh thanks Catherine. It's still 99p today. I don't normally buy cookery books on Kindle but I'm making an exception for this one because we all need more cake to get us through February...
The definition of being an adult is knowing that you can have cake without it being a special occasion
I can concur that the Hummingbird Book is fab, we also have it! I've not quite mastered how one uses a recipe book when it is an e-book - I did buy one last week for the first time (The Roasting Tin: Simple One Dish Dinners) so am going to try and find out soon!

I got this as well - have heard so much about it.

At 99p on Amazon today is The Plague and which is one of my 5 star reads
Also at 99p is SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome
Also at 99p is SPQR: A History of Ancient Rome
Although double checking the SPQR doesn't appear at 99p on Amazon but at £3.29, which although I am sure is a bargain considering all the hours Mary Beard must have poured into the book along with her knowledge, is still not the 99p that was advertised to me.
A Town Like Alice is 99p on amazon today, which is typical as I just read it from the library.
Also at 99p today is Brighton Rock
Both of which I can highly recommend.

Reasons to Stay Alive is 99p on Amazon kindle today. The author is the same who wrote the excellent The Humans.
Home Fires by Kamila Shamsie is 99p today. There have been quite a few good books in the daily deal lately, which hasn't helped my reading list shrink.

Link here.

Lisa - one of my best reads of last year, and won the Women's Prize. Highly recommend.
