Fair amount of dross in Kindle 12 days sale but there was Good Omens for £1.29 and The Colour of Magic for £1. Never read a Pratchett... must be overdue.

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
Never read a Pratchett!!!

message 465: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Do you mean never read a Pratchett or never read a Pratchett?

message 466: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
I know! It passed me by when I was a yoof.

message 467: by Gail (new)

Gail | 127 comments I have not been able to find any bargains on the kindle sale and no, I have never read a Pratchett either!!

message 468: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments I only read a Pratchett because my teenage son had the lot. Not read any since. Loved it but was on catch up on books then. 12 years later. Only read that one Pratchett. Never caught up.

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
Yes, I must admit I always thought of them as teenage boy territory when I was younger. Not sure why as I lived Hitchhikers Guide and so on.

Helen French (helenfrench) | 52 comments The first Discworld is not great - please don't judge them all by that and make sure to try some others! :)

message 475: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I think the first two disworld books are the best.

message 476: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never read a Pratchett

Lisa (mrswhams) | 730 comments Mod
Do they have to be read in order or can you pick up any and know what is going on? I tend to be quite anal about series and read them chronologically anyway but just wondering as there are a lot!

message 478: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I think it is best to read in order, there have been references to past events and characters.

Cathy | 553 comments The Luminaries is £1.19 on Kindle today.

message 481: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Free on borrowbox if from library. Chapter 57 out of 117 at moment!

message 482: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Sorry Cathy, this is in reply to £1.19 price.

message 483: by Cathy (new)

Cathy | 553 comments Sounds good Pat. I know my local library does audio books but I haven't got into listening to books yet. If I had a long car commute or a dog to walk I can imagine they would be ideal.

The actual book and Kindle versions don't seem to be divided into chapters which is a bit confusing. I've just finished the second section (p81). I don't know if that relates to your chapters or not.

Worth a read for those that are interested

message 486: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments The chapters on all borrow box books seem different to book chapters. In present book it announces chapter 11 when, according to display it is chapter 13.

No! Two. So far.

Also just noticed:

The Lives of Others
and
All the Light We Cannot See

I think they accessed my wish list and just hit hard on discounting my wished for books as I have had so many price drop emails in the last 24 hours!
