Monica Jane | 8 comments In this book I remember a girl is watching her brother at a ride in a fair/carnival and he disappears (it is later discovered that he was kidnapped and is in this dream world). Then later on in the book there is on old lady who I think is her neighbor who leaves a box on her door and when the girl opens the box she gets transported to the dream world and the second book of the serious I remember she is in the dream world

FlowerFairy | 70 comments Perhaps Into The Dream by William Sleator? Sorry can't link to it on my phone. I remember the copy I had as a child a a boy and a girl on the cover with a Ferris wheel in the background. Your description of the story matches fairly well with what I remember of Into The Dream.

Mir | 805 comments How long ago did you read this? The Devouring has some elements that fit but it's fairly recent (and horror-ish).

Sam~~ we cannot see the moon, and yet the waves still rise~~ | 139 comments I know what book you're talking about, I'm pretty sure! It was comic book-y, wasn't it? And it was the first book in a series. Racking my brains to remember what it was called.

Okay. Let's see what I can remember about it.
-The boy was younger than the girl. He was maybe nine years old, and she was about thirteen or fourteen. They were the only siblings. In fact, they were probably the only kids in the books at all, except probably the people at the fair (although those kids were just sort of "there", they weren't characters in the book).
-I'm fairly certain the book was written by a man.
-The book was really short and I believe the cover was some shade of blue. With a picture of that evil clown, maybe? The pictures in the book were pale and dreary.
-It wasn't anime. The people were fairly realistic, although definitely strange.
-It was a children's book/YA.
-I think at the end of the first book the girl ends up in the dreamworld, and the second book is her journey in it to find her brother. I think she meets maybe a queen or princess something? (Monica, do you remember how she got there?)

Yes very accurate! Except not a clown a women..with four eyes I think? But thank you so much! She got to the dream land because some old lady I think left a box..or note..or something that transformed her to the dream land! Thank you soo much!
