I think Ken Follet's Pillar of Earth has the most passionate encounter between Aliena and Jack. Do you know of any other books which have the same? Please share your views.

I think that the two encounters between Biff and Maggie in Christopher Moore's "LAMB: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal" rank right up there with the scene mentioned in Pillars of the Earth. Intensely anticipated, emotional, and important, both times.Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal

"Bridges of Madison County" comes to mind.

All these are good, but as far as I am concerned, Outlander with Jamie and Claire beats them all.

the love between Aliena and Jack in Pillars of the Earth... Aliena traveled a lot just to find Jack, his most beloved and the father of their Tommy...

I might would have to go with Gone With the Wind.
