Not sure about price, but The Burning of Cherry Hill was pretty well done. Fall of the Citizen was entertaining, too, though not as well written, to my taste.

Michelle Browne's The Loved, The Lost, The Dreaming has a pretty strong dystopian novelette. Those are the ones I've read recently that stick out in my head.

Of course, shoot me if the blatant self-promo is out of place, but you can add my $.99 cent dystopian novel Whores: not intended to be a factual account of the gender war to the list as well, if you're so inclined.
