Rereading The Final Solution - Any Pointers?

I read The Final Solution when it first came out, and remember not particularly enjoying it. Though I adore Michael Chabon's writing, I did not connect with this book. Quite honestly, I think it was a bit over my head.

Now, almost ten years after its release, I've decided to reread it as a older and wiser man ... well, older, anyway.

Any suggestions on things to keep in mind as I reread it?
