Cori Foxworthy (foxdenvixen) Hi all,

I hope this is the correct folder for this. I mentioned before in another thread that I wish our monthly read this month was in audio format. I checked on audible.com (been a member for years) and, alas, it is not.

I did some research online about text to talk applications. I found one that is incredibly real sounding. It is called Ivona. You can google it and listen for yourselves. There is a free month trial. A bit pricey but I am going to invest.

Unfortunately the book does not come in kindle version either.

I use Calibre to house my extensive e-book library. I was able to convert another book I have in .mobi version to txt and took each chapter and used Ivona and I have an audio book that I can listen to while I am working during the day.

There is another way to turn this book into an e-book but I am NOT going to cut it up, scan it, get an OCR reader to read it to text and then go through the text to talk process. I respect every physical book I have ever bought. Some are 30+ years old and out of print.

Hopefully our future reads will be available in .mobi format so I can purchase them that way and convert to text for listening to personally! If not, guess I could either hit the used book stores or visit a very dangerous place for me - Amazon.com! Maybe my local library will have copies as well.
