Help! Any books or series like this one?

Hi! I was looking for a book or a series similar to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, which I think it's sooo good!
I started reading the Night Huntress series but I didn't like it as much. Like I didn't think it was as hot as the Black Dagger Brotherhood ;)
Do you have any suggestions?

have you read her other series??? the fallen angels? IT IS AMAZING! right up there and just as good as BDB. Also Larissa Ione's Demonica series, and the 4 Horsemen series are VERY good. And Nalini Singh's psy/changeling series, is Amazing just not as dark as the above listed. Then I'd go Gena Showalters Lords of the Underworld is really really good. lol those are some of but not all of my favorites! Oh and it's not full of sex and matings, but Karen Rose, has some of the most intense suspense romances i've ever read they are in my top 5 favorite series of all time!!!!!! I hope those work for you! let me know

Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series is excellent. Tessa Dawns Blood Curse series is awesome. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunter series is great. Tina Folsom's Scanguards series is very hot!!

I agree midnight breed is a good one, it starts off similar to BDB, they came out at the same time, I also like dark hunters, it another good one, and there are many books.

Hey. Ive got one thats not vampire, but paranormal. I always have to recommend Christine Feehans Ghost Walkers. I've never had anyone be disappointed. Check out her website for the order or fantastic fiction .com. They are about SEALS who volunteered for genetic engineering but the Dr turned out to be a madman and SEALS are dying. The government is trying to cover up this sanctioned experiment by hunting them down as well as female orphans who received the same treatment. The paranormal SEALS are trying to stay alive and find the females who are hiding. Great series. Gets better and better!! Exponentially!!! If any of you try it, let me know what you think!

I started with the BDB series too, and like you, started looking for other amazing series. So far my favorites are:

Kresley Cole's "Immortals After Dark" - even the most recent books are just as good as the earliest in the series, the quality has certainly not dropped of in this series!

Karen Marie Moning "Highlander" series - I CANNOT recommend this series enough!!!! It is HOT! I only wish there were more books in this series!

Karen Marie Moning "Fever" series - these were the first books by Ms Moning that I read. I kinda wish I had read the Highlander series first (there are some cross references that I would have appreciated more). I loved this story line and cannot wait for books in this series to come out!

Gena Showalter "Lords of the Underworld" - I've only read about 5 books in this series, but I'm really liking it! I look forward to reading the rest of the series

Lara Adrian "Midnight Breed" - similar to the BDB series, but different enough to be amazing in its own right

If you are going to read the Immortals After Dark Series by Kresel Cole please start with the prequel "Warlord Wants Forever." There is a lot of world building in that prequel that will help make the rest of the books flow...

Tina Folsom's Scansguard Vampire series is pretty good. You might want to check out The Protectors by Teresa Gabelman or The Firsts by CL Quinn. SE Smith also has a few series I've enjoyed, but she tends to use alien themes not vamps. Another alien themed series that you might enjoy is Brides of the Kindred by Evangeline Anderson.

Elizabeth Hunter's Elemental Mysteries are so good too. I feel like not that many people know about them, but they are so well written and a fantastic love story!

Kristin i an just about to borrow Elizabeth hunters elemental series i hope it's good as i fell in love with j.r wards BDB seres from the first page i have moved from paranormal eg. slammed so i seriously hope that this series will bring me back to the paranormal/romance genre!!!!

Rebecca, I think you will love it! It is different from BDB but not in a bad way. I have recommended it to a few of friends and they have all loved it. They are really well written and will draw you right in!

It is hard to find series that are of the same caliber as the BDB because no one can parallel J.R. Ward's writing- she is the best of the best in the genre in my opinion. I agree with the suggestions of Ward's Fallen Angels series, Larissa Ione's Demonica series, Kresley Cole's Immortals After Dark, and Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. I think Ione's writing style is closest to Ward's out of the the bunch, and Cole and Adrian are both different & fantastic in their own right. I would also suggest Laura Wright's Mark of the Vampire series, she is amazing and the further along in the series she gets her writing just gets better and better. The Bayou Heat series she coauthors with Alexandra Ivy is also amazing. Karen Marie Moning's Fever series & Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series are also great but I would say they are more Urban Fantasy than Paranormal romance, much like Frost's Night Huntress series ended up being.

Lara Adrian is awesome! So are Sherrilyn Kenyon and Kerrelyn Sparks. Just discovered Tina Folsom and she is good too. I'm also loving Gena Showalter's Otherworld Assassins, though it just has two books so far. :(

Larissa Ione is on my list next.
