Finished up Turn Coat (My Review).
Will hopefully be starting Changes, which is easily the best book in the series, later today or tomorrow.

Right now I'm finishing The West Point atlas of war: the Civil War
by Vincent J. Esposito.

Maybe I'll finish it this week (actually I should finish it this we..."Nah, don't be, sometimes I just get on a roll and carry the audiobook with me everywhere. I was crunching stats at work for my annual report so it stopped me from going crazy.
I finished reading all the Hugo shorts, really liked the Kress novella. I also reread 1984 for an SFF Audio readalong. Love that book!
Went back to the first Jack Reacher novel, Killing Floor. It has a nice intro by the author about his original intentions (character, wish fulfillment, not following the bandwagon...). I don't seem to have the attention span for anything else right now.
This July 2013 i just finish a book that i bought in Finland country at http://www.sacrum.fi/ and it is all about christian book's i learn so much here and hopefully to read another one soon.
Begun Women Serial Killers of the 17th Century by Sylvia Perrini - read the first account, a woman called Erzsebeth (Elizabeth) - very short, yet spine-chilling for the sheer amount of torture and the number of dead. That woman holds a Guinness Record for the maximum murders!
Just finished P. T. Barnum's The Art of Money Getting: Golden Rules for Making Money. About to start A. Merritt's short story collection The Fox Woman and Other Stories. Really enjoyed his The Moon Pool, so I'll keep giving his works a try.
David wrote: "Just finished P. T. Barnum's The Art of Money Getting: Golden Rules for Making Money. About to start A. Merritt's short story collection The Fox Woman and Other Stories. Really enjoyed his The Moon..."Merritt is wonderful! I need to finish reading his stuff at some point.
And I love the covers from the reissues back in the, was it 1970's?
OK, finished The Revelations of Zang, followed it up with Strange Days in Old Yandrissa (because it's a standalone short story by the same author, John R. Fultz), and started A Discourse in Steel by Paul S. Kemp.
Finally finished Consider Phlebas, wish I could have managed it before Banks passed away. I will return to the Culture eventually, but before getting into The Curse of Chalion for next month's S&L, I'm going to work in at least two more books: Grimspace, because it sounded really interesting, and Carrie, because I haven't really read a lot of Stephen King, and a colleague recommended it because it's short.
Finished my reread of Midnight Tides The Malazan Book of the Fallen 5My Review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Moving on to the next book in the series The Bonehunters The Malazan Book of the Fallen 6

Ah. That was about what I guessed.
You're still going to have to wait till Monday for the threads to be posted. :)

About 1/3 through with Ghost Story by Jim Butcher. Am getting very sad that I'm almost done with the series. The Dresden Files start out pretty mediocre, not surprising since the first was his first book, but by book 13 or whatever this is Butcher has gotten very good.
I finished reading Red Sparrow the other day. It was a decent--if fairly typical--spy novel. I like spy novels, and I don't mind if it fit the formula. It was still entertaining. This weekend I hope to start and finish Redshirts and also hope to get a good bit more read of my friend's book. I also have Carniepunk loaded onto my phone. It's a bunch of short stories, so that should be fairly easy to listen to in shorter bursts.
Finished Changes. Still as great as the first time I read it (My Review).
And this time I don't have to wait to jump right into Ghost Story.

Reread Heir of Sea and Fire, the weakest of the series IMO.Also reading The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There. I still think I would like this if I read it at a younger age. On the good front, it pulled me into the children's section of the library.

I've listened to the entire series from book 3 on (I'd done the first two earlier) over the last few months and have to say that Changes is by far my favorite.
Ghost Story is very disconcerting though because its not James Marsters reading it. Other than Bob none of the characters even remotely sound like themselves which makes it kind of hard to follow after you've gotten so used to Marsters.
Should finish Ghost Story this week and I just picked up Cold Days today at the library.
Rik wrote: "Ghost Story is very disconcerting though because its not James Marsters reading it"Hmm, I've only read the dresden files through audiobook form, and my least favorite is definitely Ghost Story. I assumed it was because I didn't like the change in perspective (to that of a ghost), but maybe this is why. I never noticed the change in narrator though.
I've read all the books before, the early ones a few times. This is the first time I've done the audio though. I've been marathoning the whole series in audio over the last few months.
At first, James Marsters didn't do much for me. By this point of the series though, anyone else is just wrong. John Glover seems like he could be a fine reader, but he just sounds wrong.
It probably doesn't help that Ghost Story is a much weaker book. Cold Days on the other hand is excellent.

314, a true horror story reminiscent of movies like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the Thirteenth but with a more cohesive storyline.
Finished Midnight Tides (My Review).
I shall be continuing on with my Malazan group read starting The Bonehunters tomorrow.

Finished Swordspoint by Ellen Kushner. I totally loved it. I've been a little confused at some point with the change in POV, but I found the story and the characters really entertaining. Now I'm reading The Anastasia Syndrome and Other Stories by Mary Higgins Clark. I've heard good things about it back in my teenage years, and I'm finally giving it a shot.
Brandon wrote: "I felt like reading the first Percy Jackson to see if I like it."I have that but have yet to read it. My boyfriend randomly bought it for me. Hope it's good!

In addition to Redshirts, I've recently finished Influential Magic, Eden, Siding Star, and finally got around to finishing the Pern trilogy with The White Dragon. Up next is Zombie, Incorporated, Time to Murder and Create and The Mote in God's Eye.
Just finished The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Been reading The Science of Discworld IV: Judgement Day, and The Emperor's Soul.
So this month, besides the month picks I finished Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, Engn and Under the Dome. I'm also almost done with D'autres vies que la mienne and just got an ARC for The Woman Who Lost China
I finished Chasing the Prophecy, which was a nice end to the Beyonders trilogy if you like YA (or Juve or whatever it falls under). I'm starting Eric.

I doubt I would have run across this on my own and I really enjoyed it.
Reading The Hangman's Daughter, the buzz combined with the kindle daily deal finally convinced me to give this a try and I am glad I did.

I had it in audio, and is perfect to listen to when wanting some "me" time :)
Finished the Audible version of Proven Guilty The Dresden Files 8My Review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
I thought I'd sample a couple of short stories from the Audible version of Metatropolis before starting a group read of The Drowning Girl - also on Audible
I finished A Discourse in Steel -- fun sword & sorcery from the old school -- and started Robert Jackson Bennett's The Company Man, which has me intrigued at the first chapter -- I thought it was going to be another Depression-era dark fantasy/horror story like Mr. Shivers, but I'm getting hints that it might actually be set in some kind of alternate reality. Either way I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks for the gung-ho review of 'Redemption Ark.' Just finished Rev. Space, and your rundown makes moving forward sound like a high priority!
