p77 okay so far, liking the bits with Blue more than the bits with Gansey though.

I only liked it at the end, apart from that it was really really slow.

Realllllllllly slow! It felt like nothing was happening! I think a different author could have written this in 1 book not 3.

@Sarah: Lol I hate it when a series or a trilogy could easily fit in 1 book.. like, seriously? Ugh. So far I like the writing style and the pacing is "ehhh" I'm kind of dozing off lol. It needs some action scenes!

Yeah, this book is not action packed, but I still really liked it!

I just realized there's not that much dialogues in the book..bummer..... I kinda like the writing style though. It's different from her Mercy Falls trilogy.

It is kinda slow moving, hope it speeds up a little.

Okay, who exactly are Declan, Neeve, Adam, Gansey.. etc. I know they're the raven boys, but do they have special powers or something? All I know is that Blue's "Romeo" is Gansey and that she's waiting for him to have a reading. I am so lost!!! I'm on page 120.

OK lets see if i can help a bit, I've spent all day packing and shopping for my trip, so i'm a tad behind in my reading. OK so Declan is Ronan's older brother. Ronan is one of Ganseys best friend. Adam is also one of Ganseys best friends. Neeve is blue aunt, her sister( blues mother) is Maura. And Gansey is suppose to be well like you said Blues "Romeo" who is also suppose to die sometime that year. Now i'm not real sure they boys have any special powers, like i said not very far, but Neeve and Maura are physic, and Blue is kind physic from what I've gathered so far.

You probably already now all this, but hope it helps a little.

Haha yea, this book isn't the easiest to speed through.

What does the ley lines have to do with anything? I know there energy, but I can't seem to connect the dots.

Exactly, idk what it is -_- all it says is it's energy.. like wth? Energy what? Grrrrrr. I'm reading it right now and it got interesting around page 140. I think I'm going to give this a 2.5 stars out of 5. We'll see, hopefully it gets WAY better. I can't connect with any of the characters! I think it could've been so much better. I like how there's tarot involved and psychic stuff.. but that's not enough for me to enjoy the book.

Okay, page 152 explains what ley line is!
Here's what Gansey says: They're straight energy lines that crisscross the globe. They're supposed to connect major spiritual places.

YAY! Awesome. Now ley lines make more sense.

It really gets better after page 130 :) there are explanations which made me really happy lol

I know a couple of people who couldn't get through this cause of the slow pace. Have to say that I just kept waiting and waiting for something to happen, the slow pace was a bit annoying.

I think this whole story could have been condensed into one book rather than three.

(view spoiler)[So it's getting slightly better. It's making more sense now and OMG I didn't know something was up with Noah. I think I'll be finished by tomorrow, if not, today. I'm still bouncing back & forth to a 2.5 or a 3 stars rating. I just HATE how it drags on and how slow the pacing is. It really could have been better in my opinion. (hide spoiler)]

Adam's dad is such a jerk.. and I kind of like Ronan's character now.. and I would have NEVER thought that it was Mr. Whelk who killed Noah :O The only thing I'm not liking is that how is Noah able to get energy to show himself to his friends? Don't spirits have to have energy in order for people to feel or see them? Hmmm.. (hide spoiler)]

The energy thing is a valid question I think, although I think it's explained in places. I didn't guess about Mr Whelk either.
with regards to Noah, I just want to know why they didn't ask him what he was talking about when he met Blue and he told her that he had 'been dead for months'

I think there was some reference to the chainsaw earlier in the book, I can't for the life of me remember what though. I kinda got it at the time, but it was pretty obscure. This book dragged on for way too long, this story should have been 1 book not 3!

Wow, you have a lot of reading :P I'm generally not a person who can read more than 1 book at once because I like focusing on one world, but that isn't happening at the moment. I'm reading Carrie, Pushing the Limits, Strange Angels and now The Raven Boys. I'm hoping to finish Carrie before it comes out in Australia :)
