Kelli (kvshutt) | 81 comments cleaning up the mess of chicken noodle soup my son just threw at me and reviewing books :)

Would you ever spend the night in a haunted house?

message 53: by Soreonne (new)

Soreonne | 81 comments Giving my son a bath since we just finished making pizza. Pizza sauce everywhere lol

What's the best book you've read this summer?

message 54: by Diamond (new)

Diamond Drake (diamondthewriter) | 152 comments Since the last two came in at the same time I'll answer both. I don't really believe in things being haunted, so I guess that would be no. The best book I've read this summer . . . hmmm . . . that's a difficult one to answer. I've read some that I enjoyed but I haven't had that feeling of just being absolutely in love with a book. I'm searching for it, though. I really want that feeling again.

How do you feel about books ending with a cliffhanger, especially if you didn't know that ahead of time?

message 55: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Taylor (ctaylor517) | 65 comments Twilight breaking dawn pt2

What's the worst book you've ever read?

message 56: by Soreonne (new)

Soreonne | 81 comments Ok I guess I'll answer both too lol

Cliffhangers are fine with me as long as the story was good. I mean yea I'm anxious for the next book but isn't that one of the pleasures of reading? Knowing you can get attached to characters and stories in such an extreme way?

And the worst book hmmmm Falling into you was the worst book I read that had great reviews. I don't like meat head men and the story was just...horrible

What book do you desperately want turned into a movie? And who would be the leading man?

message 57: by Kelli (new)

Kelli (kvshutt) | 81 comments Nearly Broken, and Ryan Gosling. he makes my heart Pitter patter haha

crunchy or creamy peanut butter?

message 58: by Diamond (new)

Brianna♥ (briannaforrest) | 964 comments Mod
We almost never go, but we enjoy it when we do. :)

What's your favorite holiday? Why?

message 62: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Taylor (ctaylor517) | 65 comments I like thanksgiving, b/c it's not all about the superficial stuff like gifts and whatnot but about being with family. And we get to see a lot if family we don't see very often.

(2 part question) If you won 1 million dollars 1. would you take the lump sum pay out ( youd get about 700,000, plus a good chunk back next tax season)(speaking from experience we won 88,888.88 took Kim sum got 55,000.00 then 10,000.00 back next tax season). And question 2. what would you do with it?

message 63: by Kelli (new)

Kelli (kvshutt) | 81 comments Halloween! I love to decorate and can't wait to take my lil one trick or treating this year! Plus I am a hardcore candy-aholic ;)

favorite quote?

message 64: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments Wow there's been lots of crossposting whilst I've been asleep on the other side of the Atlantic to most of you!
I'll follow tradition and answer both!

Crystal - we don't have that choice for the UK National Lottery, it's lump sum or nothing. But if I had the choice I probably would take it lump sum anyway and pay off my mortgage, buy a new car, quit my job and then try to make it last as long as possible. (Boring I know but time with my family is worth more than whatever 'things' the money could buy)

Kelli - favourite quote is: “Love is the extremely difficult realization that something other than oneself is real.” Iris Murdoch

Ok, next question...

What's the best gift you have ever received?
And I mean actual gift like for a birthday or something rather than a metaphorical or spiritual one.

message 65: by Diamond (new)

Diamond Drake (diamondthewriter) | 152 comments On our fifth wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to renew our vows. We agreed that buying new rings wasn't necessary but at the altar he surprised me with a beautiful one. I was shocked and so very grateful that he'd do something so special for me.

What's the one thing that you'd change about yourself?

message 66: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments I could think of a few physical things but they don't really bother me. I guess I'd have to say my motivation. I'm rather lazy and procrastinate a lot! I would like a bit more 'get up and go' and then I might achieve some of the pipe dreams I have!

Do you have any phobias?

message 79: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments My most embarassing moment was when I answered that question honestly once to then have it publicly shared with dozens of my new work colleagues. I am now very careful about how I answer that question!

Do you write reviews whether you like or dislike a book or only for the ones you like?

message 87: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments I write reviews for everything, otherwise I'm likely to make the mistake of reading an author I hate again if I haven't spelled out exactly what I hated about a book. Likewise with books I like. It helps me choose.

On a similar theme...
Do reviews from GR friends influence what you read?

message 88: by Brianna♥, The Queen Bri (new)

Brianna♥ (briannaforrest) | 964 comments Mod
Definitely! If I have friends who have similar tastes in books and they absolutely love a book, I'll usually give it a shot. If they absolutely hate it, then I will usually pass on it.

What book did you love but thought you wouldn't?

message 89: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, #1) by Richelle Mead - Read it on the insistence of my best friend and was pleasantly surprised. Haven't read any other in the series yet though.

What book did you hate that you thought you'd love?

message 90: by Jenn (new)

Jenn Sternshein (bookdorkjenn) | 93 comments Taking Chances (Taking Chances, #1) by Molly McAdams it sounded great and i read some great reviews.... I love love triangles, but i almost didn't finish this book.. I skimmed the last 40% and wish i hadn't cuz after i did it didn't matter if the first half was good i disliked it so much..

Do you ever watch book trailers/fan trailers on youtube? If so what book do you think did a good job?

message 91: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments To be honest I never have. Partly because I do a lot of my book searching whilst at work and wouldn't be able to watch videos without attracting attention. But also because I'd be a little worried that the trailer might spoil it in some way, like when an over descriptive blurb gives too much away. I wouldn't like to have images of the characters presented to me, for example, the whole point is that it's in my head. I can't really judge whether they're any good though given I've never watched any and I'd be interested to hear different thoughts on them.

Do you still have any teddy bears or dolls from when you were little? If so do they get pride of place or hidden away somewhere?

message 92: by Brianna♥, The Queen Bri (new)

Brianna♥ (briannaforrest) | 964 comments Mod

What's one thing u wont do no matter how much someone dares u or pays u for it?

message 98: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Oxford (sarahloxford) | 1260 comments I'm sure there are loads my imagination hasn't come up with but certainly something spider related like having them crawl all over me or something.

If you could be reincarnated as an animal which would you choose to be?

message 99: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 63 comments that's a good one! if someone paid me a million dollars to have spiders crawl on me and they don't bite or hurt u then I may consider it. hmm idk.

that's a tough one. currently ive been saying that sometimes I wish I was a dog cause life is pretty easy for them for the most part. so maybe id like to be reincarnated as a dog and come back into someone I loves life so I can also watch over them every day by actually being there.

if you could see any one who has died one more time who would it be?

message 100: by Diamond (new)

Diamond Drake (diamondthewriter) | 152 comments It would be my granny. I miss her so much and I would want her to see that I married a wonderful man, built a great life, and wrote those books like I always told her I would when I was little.

What's one of your biggest pet peeves when it comes to books?
