Lily (inquisitorlily) (We're not officially starting this book until July 1, but I've figured out some discussion questions for this month's book. I'll be on vacation the first few weeks in July so I figured I'd post the discussion now.)

I don't read many vampire books. I like horror as a genre, but I'm very, very picky about how it's presented. This book is near and dear to my heart because I was bullied at twelve, which is how old Oskar, our hero, is. This book in particular got me into horror, but it's more palatable to a chicken like me if small children are the focus.

I actually have discussion questions planned for this book. Just so you guys are aware, you can also purchase this book and audiobook under the US title Let Me In.

1. How is Oskar's bullying situation handled by the adults in the novel? Could the adults have done anything differently?

2. How does Eli and Oskar's relationship contrast with the horror elements in the book?

3. You can watch either the Swedish or American film version. How does either film compare to the book? Did you like the film more than the book or are they about the same?

4. How does the author freshen up the vampire myth in an original way?
