Magic to the Bone (Allie Beckstrom, #1) by Devon Monk

Sandra This is a great series, I would highly recommend it. I read the first a while ago so I don't remember specifics but Allie is a good strong heroine who's not over the top in unrealistic ass-kicky-ness. It has a very interesting take on a world of magic and there are some other great characters that develop well over the course of the series like Davion Jones. I got up to 5 (since that's all that was out at the time) but I have the rest and I definitely wanna finish this one up!

Lorelle (lozza2407) | 34 comments The first book in this series was an absolute roller coaster ride for me and even though book 2 and 3 didnt measure up, Id recommend the first book in a heart beat. It was dark and emotional. I felt like I couldnt sleep when I was about half way through. I just wanted to know that everything would be alright. Im onto book 4 now and very excited to get back into the series. I dont think reading this would be a waste of anyones time! Its one of those books I think you have to experience even if you dont go further :)

Nikki (withererose) I'm just starting this one today. I can't wait to read it because it sounds like a very interesting read and seems to have good reviews :)

Jessica | 84 comments I started reading this one, this past weekend. I dare say I like the voice of this book a lot more than the other book of the month. I am about 25% through the book according to my kindle app. We shall see hoe I like it at the end, so far so good.

Nikki (withererose) I seriously enjoyed this book omg!!!!! I will definitely be reading more since I really liked the characters, story, world, etc. :D

Lorelle (lozza2407) | 34 comments woo hoo! im glad its being well received. Shamus is introduced in book 3 and he just makes these books for me..One of my biggest book crushes! After Robin Goodfellow, and maybe Cal from Leandros series...

4 was much better than 3 :) I think if you tried again you might find it picked up the pace a little

Reggie (originalpuck) | 19 comments I'm still waiting to get my copy, but it finally sent out and should pop up in the mail by this weekend, so hopefully I can finish it in time. I'm really glad this one was chosen - the premise sounds so interesting and DIFFERENT from what's already out there. Can't wait to read it.

Excited for you Morgan! Its a good one :) I hope you like it a little dark..

message 12: by Kat (new) - rated it 3 stars

Kat Klein | 151 comments I enjoyed this. An unusual magic style as many others have stated before. I like that it's not without cost, or penalties. I gave it 3 stars in my review and I'm reading the rest of the series.

Love things that are a bit dark. Unfortunately it didn't come this weekend, but I'm expecting it Monday (or else I'm really going to side-eye my mailman).

bookcrazedchick | 25 comments I'm think about starting this one.. is it worth it?

Mark | 48 comments Yes, its a great series.

Nikki (withererose) It's definitely worth it I really loved book 1 and have book 2 and 3 waiting for me when I eventually get there lol. But I've heard nothing but good things about the series in general :)

I listened to the first 2. That took a bit longer. Read through the next 7 in about a week. I absolutely loved the series. I can't address whether or not the 1st book is the weakest because I listen differently than I read. I will say the reader was so awesome that I 'heard' her characterizations as I read the remaining novels.

I would put this series right up there with Mercy and Kate. If you like them, this series is worth it. I was put off by so many reviews saying it was heavy on the romance. I did not find that to be true AT ALL. In fact, I would say the romance aspect is . . . just right.
