I started this today while I was getting a tattoo so I didn't have time to post updates..

I'm about 70% through and so far it's so-so... It jumps around aLOT like sometimes it's present day sometimes it's age 14 then age 10 then age 11 then present day it's like WHYYYY

It's hard to connect to any of the characters when a lot of the book is explaining how they were when they were children... It seems like I'm reading about children

Finished - I gave it a rating of 3.6

The ending surprised me... At first it sounded like she was (view spoiler)[ running away. But then I got to thinking and she said she would call her mom in the morning to let her know where she had gone. So maybe they are going to visit Conrad's mom whom I would imagine is getting sicker and sicker. (hide spoiler)]

I'm in no rush to read the next one

Some people earlier in this thread were saying they cried while reading this but maybe they mean the second book because I didn't find anything that sad..

I mean it's sad that (view spoiler)[ Susannah has cancer and all but she it didn't seem like she really started her downhill journey yet.. Perhaps in the second book she will and that will be sad (hide spoiler)]

I like flash backs too! It gives a nice touch to the story, to see them back then and the changes now. I'm sailing through it. I didn't have time to read at work, I'm about 33% in. I will be reading now.

Chapter 11 (view spoiler)[ I loved that part. I have amazing relationship with my best friend. Quite similar, but we don't have summer house to go to. :D I called her telling she should read this book and then buy a house, so we could spend summers together. And you know what she did? She snorted and told me she wouldn't spend 3 month with me even if I paid her. :) The arse!

I enjoyed there friendship so much. It's so rare that I see love like that. Holland is so cold on that front. Here friendships are unnatural and very official. I miss the carefree love and bickering. *sigh* (hide spoiler)]
