What book is next on your cozy reading list?

I love the title!"Thanks for mentioning this! It sounds like a lot of fun - I've just pre-ordered it! :)
how do you see what the books are if they are just a little box? I am new at this if you haven't guessed already. Plus how do you put the little box with the book you plan on reading in there? I am enjoying this thread but have no idea what the books are. Thank you to whoever can help me.

I..."Jeannie - there should be a book cover in the little box - we add it by choosing the "add book/author" link right above the comment box, searching for the book/author and choosing the "cover" button at the bottom of that search box.
Hovering over the cover in a post should give you the name of the book in a little yellow pop up, and clicking on the book should take you to the book page.

Don't feel shy about asking questions. This is a wonderful group of cozy mystery lovers who are always willing to share.
@Jeannie -- if you are using the mobile app you will only see book covers sometimes (which is annoying). If you click on the box it should take you to the book -- I usually don't bother.I have said this before but would people please put author and/or title along with the book cover!
Leslie: I hate to say it, but you're talking to the wall. I have requested people do that for years, to no avail. :-\
I am interested in what people have to say about the books they are reading/have read, but if there is only a cover, no title/author, I skip it. Hate to do it, but the covers don't always load right, and if you are checking from certain mobile aps you not only cannot see them, you cannot hover over the cover to see the title, either. Plus, if there are a lot of covers, all that mousing over the covers gets hard on the wrist.

I was debating between two books that I have at hand (Murder at Longbourn by Tracy Kiely and Until Our Last Embrace by Joyce and Jim Lavene). I found out that Murder at Longbourn was the first in a series and the other one was the fourth so I'm going with Murder at Longbourn.

Which authors do you like the best?

I just started A Killer Read by Erika Chase...just read the first chapter and I'm hooked! This bodes well!

Christine wrote: "I just started A Killer Read by Erika Chase...just read the first chapter and I'm hooked! This bodes well!"I just picked this up last night as well! And I read the first 100 pages right away, I couldn't put it down. Glad to see someone else is enjoying it!
Quite a while back, I was planning on reading "Hooked on Murder" by Betty Hechtman.
A lot of you said it wasn't your favorite book. Now that I've started it, I have to say I agree. It's just not "hooking" me.
And now the main character is really starting to annoy me. She teaches herself how to crochet from a book in all of about 5 minutes with no problems. My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was about 7 and I remember how hard it was to hold the yarn. How my long chain was all ripply from the too tight section and then the too loose section. My hook got all tangled up and would catch a strand yarn. Ugh. Now (many years later) it's somewhat effortless. Awhile back I tried learning to knit and boy did that bring up memories about how hard it is to learn a new craft.
HarperCollins has just unveiled a new video series where authors, friends of Neil Gaiman, and more, each read one chapter from Neil Gaiman’s book Coraline. The series begins this week with Chapter One as read by Neil Gaiman, with next week featuring Lemony Snicket, the week after that featuring Natashya Hawley (i.e. Tori Amos’ daughter), and so on. (We can’t wait for the Lemony Snicket one.) Watch/listen to the series over on Mouse Circus!http://www.tor.com/blogs/2012/10/neil...

I read this cozy and remember enjoying it, however, I'm a crocheter and knitter, so that might have had something to do with it. I plan on reading the other novels in the series.
I recently bought a three-fer, with Mrs. Jeffries Takes a Second Look.
Love her stories and just started reading the first.

Next on my list is
.Actually, Kay, I liked
, maybe not as much as some of the others in the series, but I read the series for the antics of Hamish. I never did expect to find a great mystery.
I have several other books (non-cozies) to read first -- library books with due dates, blast those due dates! -- but my next cozy will probably be Murder at the PTA Luncheon. Other mysteries in my pile are Everybody Kills Somebody Sometime and This Dame for Hire, but I'm not sure if either of them qualifies as a cozy.

!! I LOVE the Rat Pack books and have read them all!
Thanks for the input, Melodie. I'd never heard of the series, but for a reading challenge, I need a mystery whose title starts with E, and this one popped up when I searched my library's catalog :)

Next up for me will be
. I'm hoping I like it. I read the first in this series a couple of years ago and REALLY didn't like it, but this one sounded interesting.
I would like to start
in Dec and i have already organised a buddy read in Jan 13 with a fellow book friend to start cupcake bakery mystery series.
I am starting Murder at the Monks' Table by Sister Carol Anne O'Marie. My first Sister Mary Helen Mystery. I usually don't start in the middle of the series but this book was given to me.
Just a quick question ( a little bit off topic )Does anyone know of any blogs that are featuring 2013 Cozy Mystery Challenges? I looked for a 2013 Cozy Challenge on the group and didnt see one.
( I wasnt sure which discussion to post this question to.. ) =)
Thanks for your help!
I just saw one mentioned over the weekend on a blog I follow, A Novel Challenge. This blog is a collection of various book challenges.

As an avid crocheter and pattern designer, I was thrilled to have a crochet mystery come about. If I had the talent & motivation to write a mystery, a crochet mystery it would be. With crochet as the theme, and the protag's last name being Pink, and set in my homestate of CA I was prepared to just LOVE this series. Sadly, it's not remarkable. It's decent...bordering on mediocre. But it is one of the few series that I read as soon as the paperback version becomes available of each new installment. Principle of the thing and all that!
