That was a fun one. I love her regency novels and Agatha series so it was a good mix of both.

Kathryn Long | 5 comments I like to support local authors (here in Northeastern Ohio) so I can't wait for the next Amanda Flower cozy mystery, MURDER IN A BASKET but it hasn't been released yet :-( In the meantime, I'm thinking of reading Trouble in Mudbug by Jana DeLeon.

message 564: by [deleted user] (new)

My next cozy will be Murder at the Vicarage for the September read in the Christie group.

message 565: by Linda (new)

Linda Next I'll be reading The Cluttered Corpse by Mary Jane Maffini. I've read a few of her "organizer" cozies and found each one very enjoyable. The Cluttered Corpse (Charlotte Adams, #2) by Mary Jane Maffini

Erin L (wellreadmoose) | 505 comments Next up is The Long Quiche Goodbye (Cheese Shop Mystery, #1) by Avery Aames . I've been looking forward to it for awhile.

message 567: by Maria (new)

Maria Schneider (bearmountainbooks) | 191 comments Dorothy Gilman is probably not really cozy...she's got cozy elements because her heroines are usually proper ladies and/or not in their twenties. But...there's a tad more violence than most cozies and some of the crimes aren't your typical cozy book.

All that said, I've been on a Dorothy Gilman kick lately. I started with Mrs. Polifax (The Unexpected Mrs. Polifax, the first in the series) and just finished The Clairvoyant Countess. Loved them both!

So next up is another of Gilman's. I think I ordered another of her stand alones, but then I want to return to the Polifax series!

I picked that up at Amazon--it's free there as well!

message 574: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) I also got The Murder at the Vicarage (Agatha Christie Comic Strip) by Agatha Christie free (for my Kindle). I haven't read it in so many years, I don't really remember it. I'm looking forward to cozying up (lol) to a good Christie!

I have VISION IMPOSSIBLE but haven't read it yet. However, I can personally attest to the THE MISSING INK being a first rate read!

Patricia Rockwell (par2323) | 24 comments I just purchased William Doonan's "Mediterranean Grave" for Kindle--his cozy mystery about an octogenarian detective on a cruise ship. I would have preferred to start with the first in his series--"Grave Passage" but it's only available in paperback and I can't afford it. I love cruise ships and can hardly wait to read a cozy set on one!

message 582: by Diana (new)

message 586: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Next up on my list is Murder With Peacocks (Meg Langslow, #1) by Donna Andrews and then probably Death on Tour (Jocelyn Shore, #1) by Janice Hamrick . Or perhaps Sweet Revenge (Lady Arianna Regency Mystery, #1) by Andrea Penrose , Murder on Astor Place (A Gaslight Mystery, #1) by Victoria Thompson or Candy Apple Red (Jane Kelly, #1) by Nancy Bush ? Can't decide!

Avid Series Reader (msbooties) Ashes to Ashes by Lillian Stewart, about a 17th-century Scottish castle...in Ohio. Can't resist the quirky anachronism. Ashes to Ashes by lillian stewart

From those choices, I recommend Murder on Astor Place by far. I love the series. However it is quite different from the rest of your list. It's historical drama, not laugh-out-loud humor.

message 589: by Robin (new)

Robin (goodreadscomtriviagoddessl) | 630 comments I haven't requested anything "cozy" from the library as of yet.

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Hannah wrote: "Next up on my list is Murder With Peacocks (Meg Langslow, #1) by Donna Andrews and then probably Death on Tour (Jocelyn Shore, #1) by Janice Hamrick. Oh, as much as I love the Meg Langslow series, Murder with Peacocks is my absolute favourite. I've never laughed so hard as when I read that book the first time. Let us know what you think of it. The only other one on your list I've read is Candy Apple Red. It was good. Not great, but good enough I read the next two, which each got progressively better. And then the series stopped. :(

message 591: by Cath (new)

Cath (boeklover) I started The Survivor by Sean Slater. I have to say, it's verry good! I think I'm reading The other half lives by Sophie Hannah or Moth in Amber by Valerie Blumenthal next. Has anyone heard about the last one? It was a surprise book from the library, it was packed so I couldn't see wich book I was taking ;)

message 592: by Ellen (new)

Ellen (elliearcher) The Winter Garden Mystery (Daisy Dalrymple, #2) by Carola Dunn by Carola Dunn: I'm very excited about starting this!

message 593: by Hannah (new)

Hannah (hanjae) | 82 comments Thanks for the input, Susan and Jennifer E.! I think I'll go with Murder on Astor Place after the Meg Langslow book then; I like changing things up to keep myself from burning out, plus I'm in the mood for a historical mystery. :)

Ellie: I really liked The Winter Garden Mystery! Hope you enjoy it.

message 594: by LS (new)

LS (lauraactually) | 0 comments I think I'm going to start Killer in High Heels (High Heels Mysteries, #2) by Gemma Halliday . I finished the first book, Spying in High Heels (High Heels Mysteries, #1) by Gemma Halliday , a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I bought the boxed set for my Kindle, so I might as well start cracking on the rest of the series.

Although, since it's almost October, I'd really like to read Scared Stiff (Mattie Winston #2) by Annelise Ryan around Halloween :) (Call me dorky! haha).

I also want to see what the October Mini-Challenge is going to be and participate in that. That would be my first challenge on this board!
