This was my first time reading this book and it was a very thrilling journey that really stayed with me and had so many twists and turns throughout. The characters even became like a family to me.
One of my favourites besides Bilbo and Smaug (Because of his rhyming. ) was Beorn. They changed him a lot in the film probably to make him a bit nicer and make things less difficult but I like both versions of the character.
I also took quite a liking to Gollum and felt bad for him. He was very afflicted by the ring and had quite a darkness but at times he still had light in him.
And I really liked Gandalf because he always helped them through all their troubles.
It was quite funny how Thorin boasted and made himself seem so important when he didn’t really have much of a kingdom or anything to claim but I still liked the character.
I do wish Bilbo had been the one to take care of Smaug but I don’t really have any other complaints about the book because I enjoyed the writing style a lot so I would recommend this book to anyone and I will read it again.
