2nd Uglies (Uglies, #1) by Scott Westerfeld - This author is a great one
3rd The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - Because it's TFIOS and it's great; it's also a break from dystopia
4th Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer - To come back from the dystopia break; this is a nice fairy tale retelling
5th 1984 by George Orwell - I have a feeling you will like this one. Plus, it's a little break from all of the YA books
6th Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson - A fun and lighthearted read!
7th Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare - There's so many books on this list set in the future; here's one set in the past
8th The DUFF Designated Ugly Fat Friend by Kody Keplinger - Just because I love the author's books
9th Delirium (Delirium, #1) by Lauren Oliver - I love this book! I hope you do too
10th The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey - There has been so much hype about this book lately
Substitute book: The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass - It's a dystopia that I haven't read but I have heard good things about

It looks like you really like dystopia books (most of your shelf was comprised of them), so I really hope you like the ones I chose for you. The substitute and the tenth books are the only ones I haven't read.

Jodi (readinbooks) | 327 comments I love seeing everyone else's lists. It was so hard to pick books.

Mishma Kaitlin wrote: "Oh hey . . . I see someone else with Scarlet as her third book on the list . . . Just like me. :)"

Maybe you can ask her to buddy read it with you

message 109: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (readinbooks) | 327 comments I am nervous for what my partner will pick for me. I have book for a buddy read with a different group that I really hope gets picked for the CYS challenge, a buddy read starting soon for this group and just started Clash of Kings with a couple of friends who are not part of Goodreads. So many books....I am excited to see what gets picked for me and can't wait to pick my partner's books.

message 110: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Oh my god. There are so many books to read. In freshman year, so many of my classmates complained about reading over 1000 pages of Count of Monte Cristo over an entire trimester, and here I am planning on reading over 4000 pages in two weeks (that's assuming I actually read them all in that time frame). At least they're all YA books--so much quicker to read than classics.

message 111: by Jalyn (new)

Jalyn (jalynnie) | 3827 comments I love this challenge. It's so fun to look at all the books and why they were picked! I love it! :)

message 112: by Tiea (last edited Jun 30, 2013 04:51AM) (new)

Tiea Martin (tieamartin) My partner is Evelyn.
1. Sherrilyn Kenyon is one of my favorite authors and I am never disinterested when I read her books.
2. I actually own this book but have yet to read it. However, it looks like a good read!
3. Heard several good things about this one. The description makes it seems it would be an interesting read.
4. Lately, I have recommended this one several time to numerous of my friends. It starts out sort of slow and the writing seems to slack in certain areas but it gets better throughout the book. Really enjoyed this one.
5. Okay, so they say 'Do not judge a book by its cover' but I stopped believing in that when I received my geometry book with a smiling kid on the front of it. So I am assuming with the book's gorgeous cover, it has to be an entertaining read.
6. Seems like this one would have a hilarious personality to it. :)
7. I am a sucker for vampires and beautiful covers. Entwined, I expect this to be a killer read!
8. A couple of book blogs I follow on Facebook have raved about this one. :)
9. My friend read this series and enjoyed them greatly!
10. I am unsure about this one. Though, from what I have been told, Tara Sivec is one heck of a writer!
Substitute: Nothing like a fairytale read to overcome a boring book.

Here's your list of books! I hope you like what I selected for you :D

1. The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, #1) by Rick Riordan - You really, really, have to read this! It's my favorite series! At least finish two books from the series before The Sea of Monsters comes out in theaters in August!
2. Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson - Wow! A fairy tale retelling of Peter Pan! You seem to be really putting this on your priority so I put it here. You can also use this for the Fairy Tale Challenge in case you want to enter.
3. Unearthly (Unearthly, #1) by Cynthia Hand - I'm reading this, too! And you seem into paranormal.
4. Golden by Jessi Kirby - Time for a break from the paranormal/fantasy books I've chosen! Here's a realistic/contemporary one.
5. Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee - Reading this too, so we can read together! I've been hearing good reviews despite the author self-publishing this.
6. Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone #1) by Laini Taylor - Another book we both have from our shelves! I've seen 5 star reviews of this so I hope we'll both enjoy reading this.
7. Saving June by Hannah Harrington - This is one of my favorite books. It's a road trip type with romance and so many emotions felt. In case you haven't reached this towards the end of the challenge I still recommend it for you to read.
8. If You Find Me by Emily Murdoch - Time for a mystery book!

Sapir | 315 comments Wait, do I have to read the books in the order she chose them?
And what about the substitute? I don't understand when I'm supposed to read it.
